a parser ?
damn you don't know ?
when you have to analyse a certain language, or syntax, then here come the parser... there are plenty of them on CodeProject, and i could recommend you to look at this one (as it is one of mine :->)
i know, Visual Calc is not what you need, but it is a start point for coding a parser (as i say in the article subtitle)

I charge big bucks to go to Google and type "UDDI", "SOAP", "VB.NET TUTORIALS", "ASP.NET TUTORIALS".
You've gotten this new job (Congratulations!) and you know nothing about what your going to be doing? How long do you think you'll be in this job?

That is a great challenge to start learning something new. Good luck And try MSDN for some information about Web Services

I realize that. But to be hired to do work you know nothing about? That is, indeed, a rare opportunity.
And yes, I know about MSDN. You might want to tell the OP about it though. From what I've seen in his previous posts, he's going to need lots of time and material to read and practice.

May consider taking a course at you local junior college. And take a look at you local book stores. Also, for ASP.Net check out www.asp.net. But, there is alot to learn. Working with asp uses C#/VB.Net, HTML, and JavaScript.

Why are you telling me this? Reply to the OP so he gets a message that says you replied to him!

Smartass, huh?
Judging by your other 15 posts, and of course, this one, I'm amazed you even got in the door for an interview! If the position's requirements included everything you don't have any experience with at all, how on earth do you expect to retain the position?
After some further consideration, now I'm questioning the people/company that hired you. If you have no experience with what they need, how do they/you expect the project to succeed?
I wouldn't make any large purchases for the next 6 months...
BTW: Yes, I realize I don't know everything about the job you got, the people your work for, and your skill set. But from what you initially posted, all I can do is shake my head in disbelief.

I hope you code better than you speak English.
And as for money, I fail to see how that's relavent to the topic at hand...
And quit the with name-calling, it's childish. You wouldn't want your new employers to find out how you conduct yourself in a PUBLIC forum. It directly reflects how you would represent their company.

Do you have a working example of that somewhere?
All I need is a simple textbox that limits its value to numeric (limiting the lenght and the number of decimals)

Funny enough, I answered this for someone earlier today. Handle keypress and if it's not a number, a control char or the first dot, set e.Handled to true. Use char.IsNumber and char.IsControl.
Remember that in some locales, a comma is the decimal point, and a dot indicates thousands.

Hello for everybody,
please i need to make a program in VB.Net and connected with a cash register machine by using cable RS-232.
Is there anyone have in information about how to code by using VB.Net to make this machine print the bills (to take the commands from the program that is made by using VB.Net).
Thanks in advance.

Do you know what hardware you will be using?
A lot of the cash draws i have seen actually work off a pulse sent by the receipt printer. You send a print job (the receipt) to the printer and it prints the receipt and opens the cash draw. Normally you get an SDK with the printer with documentation and examples.
Without the SDK i dont see how you can do it. These things need proper drivers & the print job needs to be formatted correctly (you couldnt have a word print job accidentally sent to the receipt printer opening the cash draw could you )

Thanks Jonathan,
First i want to clarify that i need to make like this (to connect to the cash machine) because i want to make a database system here in Romania for the pharmacies by using VB.Net + MSSQL Server 2000 and to let the client computers to connect to the cash register machines to print the receipts and to register the info into the database.
the name of the cash register machine is SAPEL "http://sapel.pa.ro"
please help me with more details about that.
Thank you again

I looked at the site but obviosly cant understand a word of it. Your best bet is to contact the company directly to ask them for an SDK or tell them what you need to do and ask for some information.
you will also need one of those things there to test on. You should be able to borrow one from your client or negotiate an arrangement with the supplier of the cash register. We have done both in the past and now mainly deal with Epson Receipt printers and their SDK. Unless someone else here has had experience of your hardware i think you will probably need to do some legwork yourself.

Thanks again Jonathan,
Frankly i'm not a romanian , i'm here for complete my master degree in the computer science, and this is my preparation year and next year i'll complete my master degree, and i can speak very well romanian until now i learned romanian language since about 3 months.
In the site that i mentioned they call Cash Register machine (Casa de marcat)
and in the plural (Case de marcat).
but until now i don't have one to make testing with, and also i must finish the system.
Thank you

Ok, let's say I have a textbox called 'txtbox1'. I limit its maxlength to 6. I put in its text content to be '123456'
Now, the thing is, when I run this form, the program will automatically hightlight selection all '123456'. Is it possible for me to add some code to control that selection? Example, instead of it highlight selecting all '123456' , can i put in a code to make it only highlight select '234' whenever I load the form? Or better yet, can I even disable this highlight selection?

The textbox has 2 important properties to control text selection :
SelectionStart
SelectionLength
Start indicates the start position of your selection
Length indicates the length of the selection
Automaticly when a textbox gets focused, the SelectionStart is set to 0 en the selection length depends on the textlength.
Handle the OnGotFocus event and set the SelectionStart en SelectionLength properties to your desired values and your problem should be solved...
I love it when a plan comes together
