STPI : Stands for Software Technology Park or India. AFAIK, there are more than 10 STPI in India. In which one are you working!

Your post is a little confused.
Do you want to populate each form with data from the matching database table or do you want to select data from multiple tables and display in one form?
Which Database classes are you using? CDatabase? ADO?
I recommend you use ADO, which you can use your ODBC connection with.
Have a look at these classes[^], as they'll make it easier.

i am usinf Cdatabase
ya i want to actually carry out both these jobs....i have 3 forms one each for the 3 tables...for eg student form for student table...but student form will have link to the course form and will be linked by courseid....u r getting it na....
and similarly fees table will b linked to student by regno field...
and i am not able to populate data in the usual way i do it for one table...
consider the foll:
RFX_Text(pFX, _T("[Student].[FatherName]"), m_FatherName);
this is the for linking m_FatherName varaible with the FatherName field in student table...

Hi!
What I get is a HDC with some stuff on it and all I have to do is draw a string over that like watermark. This string can be anything of any color and any angle.
After my drawing the resultant is a Postscript output.
Now I am drawing watemark string with ROP2 MERGE_PEN but the string is always on the top and the data below is hidden. Where as I want this string to be transparent so that every thing is vissible.
I have tried with different ROPS but the result is same.
One more interesting I found is
If I draw with Hatched brush then O/p is OK although it is hatched but is transparent but if I draw using Pattern Brush then it is not transparent.
Pls. let me know if there is some another way to draw a transparent text.
Thanks

Is there any problem with using GDI+ ? Then it's easy.

Well I dont prefer to use GDI+. Customer may not have it...
It will be great if you can suggest some way using just windows API's
Anyways I would still like to know how to do using GDI+ just for my knowledge...
Thanks

Yep, you'd have to ship it.

Draw the text on black and then use TransparentBlt ?

In GDI+ you can set the transparency of a solid brush, which you'd then use to draw the text.

So does that mean to make a bitmap with text and black background and then do TransparentBlt on original DC?
|
|
|
|
|
What if string is also drawn as black?
|
|
|
|
|
Well, then that won't work, I guess. You'd have to do it somewhat more manually, as in byte by byte.

I'm not sure if this is what's causing your problem, but you might try setting the background mode to transparent before drawing your text:
int prevBkMode = SetBkMode( yourHDC, TRANSPARENT );
SetBkMode( yourHDC, prevBkMode );

I have already done that ...my problem is not with the background of text.
Background is transparent ...but the letters are not transparent...
Where the letter is drawn the text below it is hidden.
