I'm not sure if the usercontrols.field is a property you have to set. you might want to try:
Public Property Let Field(ByVal Value As Fields)
oRst.Fields = Value
End Property
Also it doesn't look like your get property will work correctly. How does the property know that you intend to get the "FldName" field?
|
|
|
|
|
actually my main problem is how to code this
in ford code
usercontrol.field("FldName") = txt.quantity
i just thought that the code below would work
in class module
Public Sub Fields(ByVal vNewValue As Fields)
set oRst.Fields = vNewValue
End Sub
since the code below works well in retrieving data
in form code
txtquantity.text=usercontrol.field("FldName")
in class module
Public Property Get Field() As Fields
Set Field = oRst.Fields
End Property
if you want i could send you the whole usercontrol code so you could take a look at it too.
btw im working on my own grid
tnx

Hello,
if someone knows how to help me I will really appreciate the answer.
I need to download a number from a web-page. I have created in Excel a model for stock evaualtion but I need to update the daily price. I have tried to open the web-page by simple Workbooks.Open Filename:="http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=A" and it works. My issue is that it takes a long time because my link is very slow.
Could anyone help me with some other method/function that is much quicker on how to get the Last Trade: Price from the web-page?
Thank you in advance. Meantime I'm going to learn more through helps ))
Kind regards

You might want to find a webservice that provides this information. You won't be transferring all kinds of other junk with the information you want.
If you still want it from that page, though, your sunk. You can't speed it up without changing the Internet connection your using.

hi all,
In my VB program, it always needs a dialog box and buttons to control command. Can I execute my program and functions without clicking any buttons in the dialog box? That means I just need to click the start button, and then I can obtain my result.
For example, I want to print something in a text file. I do not want to press a button in the dialog box.
Thanks.

Your application must be written in a way that exports this functionality. If your app wasn't written to do this in the first place, then no, you can't do what you want.
In order to get this top work, you'd have to do what Windows does. Store most of the code in .DLL files that exports the functions you want to use in other apps.

I want to display the web page in a IE browser control.
How to resize the web page with the control?
Thanks!
|
|
|
|
|
What??? The page will render in the entire client area of the control. You can't change that. The only thing you can change is the size of the IE control itself. But I suspect this isn't what you want.
Could you provide more detail about what your trying to do?

I want to show web page in a mobile phone area.
So the screen should be resized.

Keep explaining... It's becomming a little more clear.
Are you saying that you need to test a website with a phone-sized browser window??

Yes.
There is a mobile phone picture on the computer screen.
The web should be shown within the screen of the mobile phone.

I have already put a webbrowser control on winform in vb.net 2005 beta 2.
However, the content of html page do not change its size in the control.
The text and image keep its original size.
|
|
|
|
|
Of course it does! You can't scale the page rendering down. You can try to play with the View|Text Size menu, but that's about it. You can't change the scale of text that is specified in the page source and you can't scale the images down.
The site you go to must be designed for mobile browsers. You can't expect CodeProject to work on a mobile browser, do you? In order for it to work, CP must have a seperate site that is designed for 320x200 browsers.

I want to know the free space on a CD disk. It seems a very simple issue, but the CD disk information doesn't include free space. Any one who knows how to get free space from a CD disk, could please share it with me.
Thank you very much.

You'd need to first establish that it can be written on. Then you could just assume that it's a 700MB disc and do some basic maths, surely ?

but what about 800MB cds (or even more...) ?

Anybody knows how to determine if a system has MS Office installed and, if it's true, which version is installed?
Thanks in advance

Enumerate the folders under %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office. Look for the highest numbered folder that starts with "Office", like "Office9" or "Office11".

scan registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office
If it doesn't exist, then no word installed, otherwise scan all subfolders whose names are all past and current installed office versions.

I am trying to initialize sockets in my code with the following:
Private Declare Function WSAStartup Lib "WSOCK32.DLL" (ByVal wVersionRequired As Long, ByVal lpWSADATA As WSADATA) As Long
Public Const WS_VERSION_REQD As Long = &H101S
Public Function SocketsInitialize() As Boolean
Dim WSAD As WSADATA
SocketsInitialize = WSAStartup(WS_VERSION_REQD, WSAD) = ICMP_SUCCESS
If SocketsInitialize = False Then
MsgBox(Err.LastDllError)
End If
SocketsInitialize = True
End Function
The WSAStartup fails with the err.lastdllerror code returned is 126. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? This worked in VB6 but I am now running VB.net.
|
|
|
|
|
Easy.
First, don't use the API's. Use the System.Net.Sockets namespace to do the same thing. This will more than likely require you to rewrite your code.
Second, Longs in VB6 are Integers in VB.NET. Because you didn't change the data types, your now trying to pass 64-bit integers, instead of 32-bit, to the function.
System.Net.Sockets namespace[^]
