In Visual Basic 6. I am working on a project where people get information from a website.
I have two WebBrowsers. WebBrowser1 and WebBrowser2. WebBrowser1 links to a website and as it links to the website, all the links in WebBrowser1 should open in WebBrowser2. Is this possible to do?
Here is the example of what I made:
Private Sub Form_Load()
If WebBrowser1.Navigate ("http://www.google.com/") Then
WebBrowser2.Naigate = (WebBrowser1.Navigate)
End IF
End Sub

What you are trying to do is very difficult. The WebBrowser control does not allow you to detect in-page events like clicking on a hyperlink.
There is a BeforeNavigate event that you can use to get a URL from the first browser after a hyperlink is clicked to pass to the second. It also has a Cancel parameter that you can use to prevent the first window from navigating to the new link, in order to keep it on the original page.
The problem with using that is how do you know when the person clicked on a link in the first browser that should open in the second, versus when the person clicked on a link that should cause navigation in the first window, like moving to the second page of a set of search results?
It's pretty much an impossible problem to solve.

I have a combobox with several items. I want each item to open a different avi clip and play it in
the multi media player i have created. how do i point each seperate combobox item to a file on my computer???
Thank you for your help
if all the files are within the same path then make strPath variable to hold that path name. Then each item in the combo box should be the actual filename (without the extension) so append this item name onto strPath's value and pass it to ur media player.
Example:
' path where avi files are stored
Dim strPath = "C:\Document and Settings\admin\My Documents\"
Dim sFile = strPath & Combo1.Text & ".avi"
' now pass sfile as the file parameter to the media player

that is exactly what i needed, thank you

The following code looks for the text "Evan" in MyTable and returns that row to foundRow.
Dim foundRow As DataRow
foundRow = MyDataSet.MyTable.Rows.Find("Evan")
How can you find out what row number foundRow is?
you would want to write an IndexOf function:
Private Function IndexOf(dRow as DataRow) As Integer
Dim i As Integer
Dim colDRow As DataRowCollection
colDataRows = MyDataSet.MyTable.Rows
For i = 0 To colDataRows.Count - 1
if colDataRows(i) = dRow Then Return i
Next
End Function
Thanks. That's what I'm doing now. But how well would this work when there are 1000s of records? Can you utilize the table index when searching through records?

Is anyone here familiar with Remote Desktop Protocol? Terminal Services Client Library?
I need my program to programmatically connect to a server via remote desktop (or any other means if available). I feel like the solution lies in the MsRdpClient class from the MSTSCLib library. If anyone could help me use this class/library correctly, I'd be very grateful.
I don't know what the heck you would need to do this for other than attempting to compromise remote computers. I'm not sure if there is a way to programmatically do this (for good reason too). Perhaps you should think of a different approach rather then hijaking someone's computer.

How about asking this in the ASP.NET Forum[^]. Even though your using VB.NET, your question is about ASP.NET technology, not VB.

When i run the SDK it eventually asks me where i want to put the extracted files.
Uhhhh, anyone?????
where you like... the desktop if that tells you (not a good idea however). you then will have to exécute a setup extracted to the place you provided there... after the install, the extracted files won't be needed anymore.
ps: next time, choose the right forum to ask this... here, it is Visual Basic / VB .NET forum.

if you dont feel you should answer the question i ask then dont. There is no need
for smart ass comments. And fyi, i was installing the SDK for use in VB.NET
Smartass or not, his answer was essentially correct. The package wants to know where you want it to unpack itself. This will be a temporary folder from which the actually SDK installation will run.
This temporary location will NOT be deleted when the install completes. This is giving you the opportunity to unpack the install to somwhere like a network installation point so you can install the SDK on multiple machines from one sharepoint on the network.
And there is no forum here for DirectX questions, although I wish there was...

absolutely not (one time again), but i leef obliged to say it again as you seem to be a bit too more nervous...
installing SDK for whatever language you use don't let you use that forum to ask "HOW TO INSTALL" one or one install...
this is a general question until you didn't start coding and ask a specific VB CODE question

hey,
firstly, if you don't feel my answer correct, maybe it's because you didin't formulate yours clear enough.
secondly, even if you install
SDK for "VB.NET" as you say, it is not a VB question since you don't ask for code... installing a software has never been part of a specific language

Firstly, you are the kid here. Both by age and attitude. Learn some manners, treat people with respect and act professionally and you will get the same in return.
Secondly, Toxcct took the time to carefully and correctly answer your question. If you can't figure out how to make his advice to you work, you ask for more help and describe why it didnt work, you do not call people names. May I take this moment to suggest that if Toxcct's initial reply did not answer you question then you should reword your question because I would have answered the same thing. The standard format for that kind of question is to state what you are trying to do and what you have tried to get there. "Uhhhh, anyone?????" tells us nothing. So it asks you for a directory path... Where? When? What does it say about it? It's not too late to ask for help.
Thirdly, this thread does not belong in the Visual Basic forum. The advice you have been given by others and disagreed with is correct. This thread belongs in General Discussions[^] purely because there is no other forum that is suitable. By posting in the correct forum you will get the correct people looking at it. Most developers here are specialists in only one or two languages and don't read the other forums so you are only limiting your responses by posting it here.
And finally, you seem to have an issue with homosexuality. If you need someone to talk to offline then I'll be happy to listen.
