ASP is SAID to be supported on this site from my supplier, BUT after a lenghty discussion with him, he is going to upgrade (change) the a MS Server and I am sure this will simply sort out my problems on the short and long term. I understand that I COULD have gotten my ode to run on it and all should have been OKish, BUT the experts told me that I would have had problems for ages on it in any case (My supplier sugested that I actually go and REDO everything in PHP.. NO WAY
SOOOO At the end I am waiting since he said a week and he should be on MS IIS servers and I am not changing a thing on my side.
Thanks guys.

You are using Apache :: ASP right?
Can you write a simple ASP script called testasp.asp with the following contents
<%
Response.Write "Hello World from Apache ASP"
%>
That way with a simpler stacktrace, we can find out if there are any configuration issues.

I had a simple one called specials.asp on there that does only ONE asp action and it is a simple response.write("NOW") and even that gives me a server error, but like I said, the guy is going to go the IIS route in any case so it is fine. Thanks in any case

Hi,
I have a popup page that submits new info to its parent page, once the user clicks update, the following code is triggered.
<br />
window.opener.location.reload()
window.self.close()
The problem now is that I need to send a anchor tag ("#") with the window.opener.location.reload() function, but dont know how to do this. The anchor name is "Progress", and the parent page is showProgRep.aspx
Can someone help me please!!

If there is no anchor previously, you can just add it:
window.opener.location = window.opener.location.href + '#Progress';
window.close();
---
b { font-weight: normal; }

Thank you, but now I have trouble refreshing the content on the page. I basically need to reload the page, but make the page scroll to the anchor. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to allow users to fill in an application form, and through a click of a button, it will open Microsoft Outlook and all the entered details will be inside the textfield.

So, what's the big deal ? You said you're using javascript, right ? So write a jscript function that builds the string from the contents of the controls.

<frame><div> html inside</div></frame>

Make sure you set framemargin=0 and all that stuff

|
|

yes i did the main thing is what will be the difference between to have a div tag and a table tag inside a frame. if I put a div tag directly inside a frame it gives some white space between, but when I wrap this div tags within a table then it doesnt give me white space. what is the difference? can you please let me know? the problem is i cant put it inside a table.

I would imagine its a rendering "feature" of the browser. Have you tried it on all browsers with the same result?
|

Make sure that body and div have margin: 0 and padding: 0 in your style sheet.
|
|
|
|
|
yes I only need that in IE and its not working on that. I made all the margins and div tags to 0. The thing is if I put a table in a frame its fine but not when i put a div tag in a frame. i dont know the reason

Hi,
I am doing a web app in ASP javascript. I am copying certain no. of files from one folder to other, from src to dest. I set different permissions for each file in the src. But after copying to dest all the file acquires the permissions from dest. If I check the file permissions after copying, in the security tab the check box - inherit permissions from parent - is being set automatically and all the files inherits the permissions of the dest folder.
How do I preserve the original file permissions while copying. Please help.

Hi all,
I'd like to know is there an event that can be fired when an object becomes visible.
This object is inside an div which is invisible(display="none"). When this div becomes visible, I want a event that notice me that the object inside the div is visible as well.
Any points?
Thanks.

I may be wrong here but the display style of a DIV will only change by some code changing it. That code will usually be called in response to a user clicking a button or link. AFAIK there is no event for it as such.
