Something like make settings after the AMBIENT_CONTROL event, but IE just can't fire that for me.
To edit the registry maybe one approach, but the response is bad
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
I have a web page that has a drop-down menu. Right below it is a Flash file. I don't want to take space for my sub-menus; instead, it'll show above the Flash. How can i do that? I have tried to set the z-index of both Flash and tags hold the Flash (such as p tag, div tag) but it doesn't work
Thanks!

Hi Codeproject Members.
My wife is starting an eCommerce Web business and needs an out-of-the box solution to provide site portal. I am currently a software developer but do not have enough spare time to start this project from scratch.
I have investigated a few solutions that are on the market but the majority only allow minor changes to their templates which are hosted only on their sites.
I would like something that is recommended and is as near to native HTML as possible. ASP.NET would be OK. I can host the site so no problems there.
We would want to add links/pages and change Meta Data.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards Paul.;);)

I want to calculate total working days between the two dates specified in ASP or javascript:
e.g.,
date1 = 16/08/2005
date2 = 25/08/2005
there are two holidays in the duration specified above.
Thanx
|
|
|
|

anyla,
You may use DateTime.Compare to get the difference but for WorkingDays, you need to have a class which calculates the number of holidays within a date span. This again is dependent on each region and/or enterprise. Is'nt it?

Here is a simple, but not very efficient, method:
date1 = #2005-08-16#<br />
date2 = #2005-08-25#<br />
<br />
day = date1<br />
days = 0<br />
While day <= date2<br />
wday = Weekday(day, vbMonday) ' <-- here you use the first day of week<br />
If wday <> vbSaturday and wday <> vbSunday Then<br />
days = days + 1<br />
End Id<br />
day = DateAdd("d", 1, day)<br />
Wend<br />
Response.Write "The number of workdays are: " & days

I need implement creation DIME-envelope in C++. And, conversely, I must restore source attachments from this DIME-envelope. I don't need implement sending or receiving data, only creation/parsing DIME-envelope.
What tools can I use for this? I think that this problem is typical and must be typical solution too. Can you help me, please?
May be Microsoft SOAP Toolkit 3.0 is suitable for this? And I found gSOAP Toolkit http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gsoap2, but I think that it
is very complicated and cumbersome for my simple task.
Thanks very mach

hi,
how can i make the visited page unavailable after leaving the page,even if the user presses the back or forward button in browser?
thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
u can't. the browser that the user uses handles hystory like that. depending on the browser u target u might be able to find a way to trick the browser into thinking it never viewed that page
|
|
|
|
|
For a bit of a cheesy way, you could set display:none on your visited links and make sure the page expires imediatly so it must be reloaded when a user returns to it.

I have created some server controls programatically at runtime and these are fine, but I can't figure out how to access these controls at a later time ( ie after a button clicked:-
this is how I created the code
Label label = new Label();
// Set the label's Text and ID Properties
label.Text = fieldDesc;
label.ID = "label" + rowCount.ToString();
labelPH1.Controls.Add(label);
// Add a spacer in the form of an HTML element
labelPH1.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(" "));
TextBox textBoxInput = new TextBox();
// Set the Textbox Text and Id Properties
textBoxInput.Text = fieldDefault;
textBoxInput.ID = "textBoxInput" + rowCount.ToString();
textBoxInput.MaxLength = fieldLength;
textBoxPH1.Controls.Add(textBoxInput);
// Add a spacer in the form of an HTML element
textBoxPH1.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(" "));
when all the data has been input in textboxes created the user clicks a button, but whan I try to extract the value from textBoxInput1 I get a compilation error, for example
private void buttonOk_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
Response.Write("data " + textBoxInput1.Text);
}
I get the error :- the type or namespace textBoxInput cannot be found.
|
|
|
|
|
Because textBoxInput1 is not a variable!
this.Request.Form["textBoxInput1"] is one possible way how to get it's value.
Never forget: "Stay kul and happy" (I.A.)

Don't dimension agesplit as an array. It's not an array, it's a variant that contains an array.
When you dimension an array in VBScript, you don't give the number of items, but the highest index to use. If you want an array with three items, the highest index will be two.
Dim ages, agesplit, strSentence<br />
Dim OneDimArray(2)<br />
<br />
ages = Request.QueryString("age1")<br />
agesplit = Split(ages, ",")<br />
<br />
one = agesplit(0)<br />
two = agesplit(1)<br />
three = agesplit(2)<br />
<br />
OneDimArray(2) = one<br />
OneDimArray(0) = two<br />
OneDimArray(1) = three<br />
<br />
strSentence = join(OneDimArray, ",")

<br />
<br />
times = request.querystring("age2")<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
sDate2 = times<br />
myArray2 = Split(sDate2, "/")<br />
<br />
sNewDate2 = myArray2(1) & "/" & myArray2(0) & "/" & myArray2(2)<br />

When working with the database, I would suggest that you format the date according to ISO 8601, e.g. "yyyy-mm-dd". This format is totally unambigous (contrary to almost all other date formats), and the database should have no problems to dechiper it, regardles of what the date format might currently be on the server.
