Make sure that body and div have margin: 0 and padding: 0 in your style sheet.

yes I only need that in IE and its not working on that. I made all the margins and div tags to 0. The thing is if I put a table in a frame its fine but not when i put a div tag in a frame. i dont know the reason

Hi,
I am doing a web app in ASP javascript. I am copying certain no. of files from one folder to other, from src to dest. I set different permissions for each file in the src. But after copying to dest all the file acquires the permissions from dest. If I check the file permissions after copying, in the security tab the check box - inherit permissions from parent - is being set automatically and all the files inherits the permissions of the dest folder.
How do I preserve the original file permissions while copying. Please help.

Hi all,
I'd like to know is there an event that can be fired when an object becomes visible.
This object is inside an div which is invisible(display="none"). When this div becomes visible, I want a event that notice me that the object inside the div is visible as well.
Any points?
Thanks.

I may be wrong here but the display style of a DIV will only change by some code changing it. That code will usually be called in response to a user clicking a button or link. AFAIK there is no event for it as such.

lol.
domain registration is when u register a domain
ex: urdesiredname.com
when u register a domain ur not hosting files on a server, cuz u dont have a server. u register so that u can use that domain name for ur server.
hosting is when u have a server and host files on it. u can use a registered domain name as the thing that users enter to view files that are hosted

Domain Registraion is about the name, like your name.
Web Hosting is about the house, like where you can stay
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, as said.
"domain registration" is registring a domain name.. Whereby, if you want to use this domain as a website, and you would like to host some web sites.. Then you'd use "web hosting". Many companies offer both services in a package.

Hi,
How to draw a border only for a particular column and not for the entire table?
Pls help
Thanks in advance
Prabha
|
|
|
|
|
You have to use CSS within the cells of that column. For example:
[table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0]
[tr]
[td width=50 style='border-left:1px solid black;border-right:1px solid black;']
blah blah
[/td]
[td width=100]
more content
[/td]
[/tr]
[tr]
[td width=50 style='border-left:1px solid black;border-right:1px solid black;']
blah blah
[/td]
[td width=100]
more content
[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]
Of course you might want to define a style in your stylesheet for the cell with the borders and just use that as a class in the [td]

Hi Dears
I have a problem with CSS
I created a css as below
TD.main{
background:background-image;
background-image:url(images/con-main-bg.jpg);
}
Now I used it as
but it is not working. Can somebody solve this problem.

Remove the "background:background-image;" line. There is no property in the background composite that can have the value "background-image".

When using firefox this html code does not work:
:
:
<body>
:
:
<iframe src="//someWindowsComputer/C/someFolder/someOtherFolder/myText.txt" frameborder="yes">
Browser not compatible
</iframe>
:
:
:
The iframe does not load the source file. MS Explorer works fine. The issue seems to be that I am trying to provide a path that points to another computer on my local network.. in this case the name of the computer is "someWindowsComputer". I have tried file://someWindowsComputer/..... as well. Both versions work in Explorer. These types of URLs do not work anywhere where a src field can be used, like in image tags, on firefox however they work everywhere in Explorer. Is there another syntax that can be used on FF?
thanks.

Hello
Is there any way that one can reffer to a new page with an URL and at the same time define how the window should look (eks: no toolbars, size etc).
SomeFunction.TargetURL = "../PersonInfo.aspx (and define the window here?)"

If this is not possible, is there any way to define these things in the startup off the new window?

I don't know if you mean pop-ups or just the next page. If you are looking to change a pop up, take a look at chapter seven of http://www.javascriptworld.com/scripts/index.html.
If you want to change the appearance of the next page depending on what you click on, you could do that on the back end with ASP or something like that. The script would then generate custom CSS based on what the link asked for. For example:
/page.asp?layout=1
vs.
/page.asp?layout=2
In your asp code, you would have something like:
<%
layout=Request.QueryString("layout")
If layout = 1 then
%>
<style>
(first style sheet)
</style>
<%
Else
%>
<style>
(second style sheet)
</style>
<%
End If
%>

thanx for the answer
I allready have a windows that is open, I want to change som of the attributes off this window... I have found these commands
self.resizeTo(600,300)
scroll =no
What I am looking for is a way to remove status line and toolbars, I want a plane window
Spaz

You can do this:
window.statusbar.visible = false;
window.toolbar.visible = false;
The only problem is that this script will only work with Netscape 4+. IE doesn't have a window object for either the status bar or the tool bar.

Asp.net
I have a user control, which mimics a keyboard. When the user control is closed, the text entered (textmode = password) is copied to a textbox (textmode = password) on the parent. I receive no errors, but the data is not copied.
This works ok if the parent textbox is not a password field.
Is there a restriction on copying text to a password field, is there an alternative way of doing this?

You can't copy from a password field. That is disabled for security reasons.

hi there,
I have created a div with a position:absolute; attribute. Here is the declaration:
#pageheader {
background: #F0F0F0 url(img/default_headerback.jpg) no-repeat top left;
position:absolute;
top:0px;
left:0px;
width:600px;
height:300px;
border-top: solid 5px black;
border-bottom: solid 5px black;
clear:none;
}
Below this one, I've created another div, which should vertically start immediately below the above div top: 300px; . Problem is, IE displays the border inside the 300px height whereas IE seems to add the border to the height. The result is, the lower div overlaps the upper one by exactly 10px.
Is there a hack to it?
Thanks in advance!
