Sorry, but I never used these things so I cannot help you a lot. I can only help if you have some compile errors or things like that.

This is terrible code - NEVER have a messagebox in a Paint handler, what if it invalidates the form ? Your Paint handler should just draw data that's already in your app, not go off and build it.

Hi ! I am looking for an example (sample code) about how to write a PC104 (ISA bus with new hardware form factor for embedded system) for Windows OS. Any windows can do the work. Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE or Windows 98.
I am new in driver design. I understand the WDM model but I saw that we cannot (or is very difficult) to design a driver (based on WDM) for ISA bus (or PC104) because it is not PNP. Some site suggest NT4 kernel mode driver.
What to do ??? Another thing, I know that writting driver for WinCE is different than other Windows Driver.
Thanks a lot.

Hi!
Well this is coming from an Operating System developer - i have experience programming, but only in linux and os-independent environments. Please keep that in mind if my questions sound completely idiotic Thanks!
Now moving on ...
OK! so i got myself a new toy ... an iPaq hx4705 running windows mobile 2003 ... obviousely, there isn't anything TO a computer if you can't program it so i want to learn how.
I've already downloaded and installed MS Embedded VC++, a couple SDK's and the WM2003 toolkit ... got the stuff to compile and successfully run all the sample applications.
Where do i go to learn the wm2003 api? (no former windows experience)
Thanks! Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!
Sincerely,
Jakykong

I am currently starting to work on a small project containing a module which can copy files to the PocketPC. I found the RAPI and wrote a small program which does what I want to do: copy files to the PDA. But now I think it would be better to have a dialog with 2 directory trees (left desktop, right PDA) where the user can select a file on a desktop and select the new directory on the PDA. Does anyone has an idea if such a dialog already exists (I want a guild in solution and don't want to use ActiveSync)?
Using Google did not help...

I am using the following:
Pocket PC 2003
SQL Server CE 2.0 (Including sp3 Update)
Microsoft VB.Net Compact Framework 1.1 (sp3)
SQL Server 2000 (sp3a)
Active Sync 3.8
I am trying to use RDA Pull to transfer a table from SQL Server on my desktop PC (through IIS also on my desktop pc using sscesa20.dll). I am getting the following error message:
Error Code: 80004005
Message: The version of the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server is not correct [,,,Version,,]
Minor Err: 29022
Source: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition.
I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas as trawling the net as provided some hints but no solution.

Hell everybody,
I'm looking for a way to fill a polygon with a hatched (partly transparent) colored brush. The reason is I want to display a bitmap in the background and mark some areas ( e.g in red color ). But these areas have to remain visible. I am able to create a hatched brush (black and white) but I'm not able to draw the polygon and the border line in the correct color.
Some hints or pointers???
Thank you very much

The same issue happens on a real device. I'm asking for help again.

I have found a solution. The problem is in the following: Activator.CreateInstance (Type) method, can't create an instance of the class that is described in another DLL. This is the ISSUE that we need to address to Microsoft!!!
Peace!

Hello and thanks looking into my question.
I am about to implement gps support to my embedded C++ 4.0 program, but i do not find an entry point to step into:
I already know the com port is only for exclusive use, so if there is a navigation system running, the serial port is locked. Is that true?
If so: How would I start to get the serial data into my program and then pipe the NMEA stream further to the navi-system? I know I could use the virtual driver from FRANSON, but I would like to avoid a third party product.
Thank you very much...

Hello all,
Doing my first application to transfer to PDA's. I've looked and looked but can't seem to figure out the 'standard' screen size for most PDA's in 'twips'. I'm not sure how big to make my forms. I realize this is a rookie question but hey, "it's my first day man". I've done the math conversion of what I believe to be screen size in inches, to pixels, to points to twips but every time I get a resultant size that looks too big.
This is one case where 'size matters'.
Thanks
Will

Hi,
I'm trying to integrate the Media player ActiveX on Pocket PC 2003. I updated my Pocket PC and I have now Media player 10. The ActiveX works with PIE.
I want to display it in a MFC application. I use the same code than the PC version. But it doesn't work.
It seems that in CreateControl method, it cannot get an instance on IPersistStreamInit. I don't kown if this interface is essential to create or initalize the control.
here the code of the OnInitDialog function :
BOOL CTestWMPDlg::OnInitDialog()<br />
{<br />
CDialog::OnInitDialog();<br />
<br />
SetIcon(m_hIcon, TRUE);
SetIcon(m_hIcon, FALSE);
<br />
<br />
CenterWindow(GetDesktopWindow());
<br />
<br />
m_nFlags |= WF_OLECTLCONTAINER;<br />
<br />
m_mediaPlayer.Create(NULL,<br />
_T("Media Player ActiveX"), AFX_WS_DEFAULT_VIEW | WS_VISIBLE | WS_CHILD,<br />
CRect(0, 0, 200, 200), this, IDS_PLAYER);<br />
<br />
return TRUE;
}
Any idea ?
Thank you for your help

Hi,
I've created Disk filter driver based on diskperf and I need to Create/Read/Write my c:\\myFile.dat. But I can't nor create nor read and write the file. I tried these operations from everywhere , also I created a system thread but the result is same.
I'm using ZwXXX functions. The only place from where I can open and read the file is IoControl, but the status code for ZwWriteFile is STATUS_NOT_IMPLEMENTED.
Please, tell me how workaround this problem ?
many thanks and sorry for weak english.

Hi,
I want to save a CDC/HDC to a file, so far I've come up with this:
CDC bmcdc;
CBitmap cbm;
bmcdc.CreateCompatibleDC(pdc);
cbm.CreateCompatibleBitmap(pdc, rect.Width(), rect.Height());
bmcdc.SelectObject(&cbm);
bmcdc.BitBlt(0,0,rect.Width(), rect.Height(), pdc, 0, 0, SRCCOPY);
I've checked that this CBitmap is filled by clearing the CDC and redrawing it.
Now I just need to save it as a file which I wanted to do this way:
CDIBSectionLite dibs;
dibs.SetBitmap((HBITMAP)cbm);
dibs.Save(L"test.bmp");
dibs.ReleaseMemoryDC();
This way I just get 57Byte file which seems to contain just the header.
Any ideas how to fix this?
