I run a website which runs ASP.NET and I wanted to implement Google
Maps. But since there were no real .Net APIs I had to fall back on
using Google's AJAX syntax.
Since I am not much of a javascript programmer I decided to just make a
basic implementation and then pass the variables by XML or when I
render the map through the RegisterStartupScript.
By making use of the RegisterStartupScript I am able to call the
javascript from the code behind page.
I thought I would share it since it has taken care of a lot of
headaches for me.
Go to http://www.legad.org/tech/map. aspx to see how it works.
Go to http://www.legad.org/tech/text .aspx to see the underlying script.

Are you making a pron site ? :P
To add a pdf, just add a link to it, and store the file on the server. The browser handles the rest. I reckon the same is true of flash.

Hi,
I am creating a website using asp javascript.
Is there a way I can disable the Back button of the IE ??
Pls help.
|
|

Disabling the back button is considered a bad practice.
It's better to make the pages to expire content, for example, using something like Response.Expire

Currently, I need to have webpages for file sharing to a group of user. Some of them only have rights to read a excel file. Each file will have one owner who can edit and save an update one to a place.
For those can edit, I will use hyperlink to link that file.When user click, a windows will pop-up asking "open" or "Save"
For those can read-only, I would like to make a button for them. When they click that button, a new windows will pop and get that table from a particular excel file and "print" it to the new windows.
Is it possible to be finished by html? or other programming??Please provide the source if you have. Or please provide other solution for me. Thanks

As soon as you start to deal with rights, you're talking about a back end system like asp, php or asp.net. HTML will display what you tell it, it won't think about it.

Hi,
Can any one help in this.
I have some problem with idle time calculation in ASP.
If the user is idle for 10min we need to redirect that page automatically.

how to get controls from a web form and programatically entering data into it.
|
|
|
|
|
hi there,
could u specify more detail about what u need?
1. getting controls dynamically:
-> u can refer to Controls collections
2. entering data
-> after getting controls, u just simply use methods that the controls expose to fill in ur data

I have an ASP page that creates an excel file thru automation.
Set xCel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
xCel.Visible = true
xCel.DisplayAlerts = false
Set book = xCel.Workbooks.Add
Set sheet = book.Worksheets(1)
.
. (adds data here)
.
physicalFileName = "pnl_" & Session("UserName") & "_" & CLng(Now*1000) & ".xls"
sFilePath = gsPathToRoot & "Reports/Excel/" & physicalFileName
up to here it works correctly. But when I try to save the file by
book.SaveAs sFilePath
the file is not saved. I have changed the permissions on the directory to give IUSR_machine read and write permissions on the directory. Is there something else I need to do to facilitate the saving of the file?
Thx

You'd be a lot better off to move your business logic into a middle tier comprising of C++ COM objects.

No doubt, but that won't happen by Tuesday.
It turned out the file path I was using was a url reference, once passed the correct file path it saved properly.

Your textbox has a value property, set it to "". Your radio buttons have a checked property, set them to false.
