If so, get the windows 2003 server DDK. Then buy Walter Oneys book, Programming the Microsoft Windows Driver Model.
Then post loads of qestions to the relevant Google forums.
BTW, what sort of wirless is it? GPRS, UMTS? or WLAN (802.11) ?

anyone got experience with dialogics telephonycards?
we have a problem where the card will get a "connect" event when we make a call even if the calee is not responding.
i guess its because the card thinks that the swedish bussy/not answering tones are something else (?)
any help would be very welcome

Try running through the PBXpert process to learn the tones in the area you are in then enable the resulting TSF file in the DCM for that board.
Should help out a little bit.

I have Linksys switch/router.
Now in my LAN I have one box on which FTP configured as
ftp://192.168.1.102:33331
Internaly in LAN all computers are able to use that ftp, but otside
when I dial
ftp://64.226.4.32:33331
It complaning that PORT ERROR occured
No my Router is configured to forward all 33331 port request to ftp box
App = ftp
Port = 33331
Forward IP = 192.168.1.102
Note: The same configuration works fine with HTTP
Any ideas?

FTP works unlike other Internet protocols: it uses two connections, one for control and another for data. You are forwarding only the control connection but not the data connection.
Easiest solution is just forget FTP and use HTTP for data transfers.

Dear all,
I have a problem on how to get the PnP ID of a USB Thumbdrive. I will get the driveletter of the
thumbdrive, say "J" but not able to assoiciate the PnP ID of the USB device in that particular drive (ie J), instead the code given below is giving PnP ID of all the mounted thumbdrives
I will be very thankful if someone can get me the solution

Try replacing the immediate If statement with a regular If statement. Every time you go through your For...Next loop its adding

I just got my new Dell 2001FP flat panel, but I didn't think about hooking it up to my KVM. Yes, I have to use the analog output, but that's okay.
My question is, is it okay to switch between resolutions on an LCD monitor using a KVM just like I currently do with my old CRT? Two of my machines run at 1600x1200, while the other two run at 1280x1024. Are there any adverse effects from switching around like that? Is it just as safe as doing it with the CRT?
Dumb question, sure, but it's a nice new monitor and I don't want to ruin it.

I shouldn't think there'll be a problem. Your flat panel can only do one resolution anyway - in your case 1600x1200. All other resolutions are resampled up to 1600x1200 by the monitor itself. Your picture quality will be best if you use the native resolution. Presumably your older machines can't actually do this resolution?

Hi ! I am looking for an example (sample code) about how to write a PC104 (ISA bus with new hardware form factor for embedded system) for Windows OS. Any windows can do the work. Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE or Windows 98.
I am new in driver design. I understand the WDM model but I saw that we cannot (or is very difficult) to design a driver (based on WDM) for ISA bus (or PC104) because it is not PNP. Some site suggest NT4 kernel mode driver.
What to do ??? Another thing, I know that writting driver for WinCE is different than other Windows Driver.

The NT4 kernel contained most of what is known as WDM (win2k is just NT5 and XP is NT5.1). Almost everything except the plug and play stuff in fact. You can still use the old NT4 API, it is still there, your driver might fail WHQL though as some of these calls are 'disallowed' these days.
The cals in question are the ones that access the hardware, these days it is supposed to be done through one of the system bus drivers. However, you can still wirte your own bus driver, we do, and still pass WHQL, so it is a little murky in this respect.
Also, 2k and XP (NT 5 and 5.1) still run NT4 drivers, so you will have no problem if you use the NT4 DDK to write the driver.
If the device is a network device, and you just stick to using the NDIS api, then it will run on CE (and linux too as there is an NDIS wrapper for linux). If you need to call any of the standard API funcs though your driver will not run on CE.
Windows 98 supports a subset of WDM.
What sort of device is it, because it is fairly straight forward to write a monolithic (hardware to IO manager) driver of the ISA bus on NT4.
