if u mean that by sending the message from the
mobile By SMS then its quit simple .
U need to connect a simple Mobile by its serial
port to computers serial port, my friend had used
Nokia 1100 mobile .
When a new msg is recieved he check that is the
specific packet for Switching the Appliances.If
it was then he parse the packet and sends the
output to the parallel port .
For SMS u need to study the AT codes (get in goole)
You can use either Bluetooh or Infrared for the
same work that SMS does but need addtional Hardware.

When attempting to connect my WindowsCE project to a Windows2000 desktop PC via ActiveSync(v3.5), I am finding that I can only get a connection if I delay creating a process to run "repllog.exe" in the WinCE app until after manually running ActiveSync on the desktop PC and selecting "Get Connected". If I start repllog too soon then I don't get a connection, ie. ...
STEP 1:
At the desktop PC...
run
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESMgr.exe"
Select from the "File" menu,
"Get Connected..."
Click the "Next" button on the "Get Connected" window
STEP 2:
Wait a couple of seconds, then at the remote WindowsCE application...
cause the application to call
CreateProcess(_T("Windows/repllog.exe"), NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, 0, NULL, NULL, NULL, &m_procInfo);
If STEP 2 is actioned at any time before STEP 1, I don't get a connection. Can anyone tell me why this might be? Is it possible that the SDK for the embedded device is lacking some ActiveSync functionality? Is it to do with event sequencing within the ActiveSync "black box"?
Also, I have tried the CODE PROJECT "Command-line utility for PocketPC (RCMD.exe)" project by Alexander Shilonosov. I have this working perfectly well between the desktop PC and a PocketPC. However, when I swap the PocketPC with my WindowsCE project I don't get a connection at all. Once again, does anyone have any ideas please (seems likely that this problem is the same problem as the one above)? Should I be doing more than just running repllog in the WindowsCE application?
This is the first time I've tried to do anything like this so I'm afraid I'm rather green!!! so thanks to everyone and anyone who can help.

I'm developing a pocket pc application that monitoring the gprs traffic,
to do this I found this article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/iphlp/iphlp/getiftable.asp
This is my code:
// Declare and initialize variables
PMIB_IFTABLE ifTable;
PMIB_IFROW pMibIfRow;
DWORD dwSize = 0;
DWORD dwRetVal = 0;
// Allocate memory for our pointers
ifTable = (MIB_IFTABLE*) malloc(sizeof(MIB_IFTABLE));
pMibIfRow = (MIB_IFROW*) malloc(sizeof(MIB_IFROW));
// Make an initial call to GetIfTable to get the
// necessary size into the dwSize variable
if (GetIfTable(ifTable, &dwSize, 0) == ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER){
GlobalFree(ifTable);
ifTable = (MIB_IFTABLE *) malloc (dwSize);
}
// Make a second call to GetIfTable to get the
// actual data we want
if ((dwRetVal = GetIfTable(ifTable, &dwSize, 0)) == NO_ERROR) {
if (ifTable->dwNumEntries > 0){
for(DWORD i=0; i< ifTable->dwNumEntries; i++){
MIB_IFROW mir = ifTable->table[i];
if(mir.dwType == MIB_IF_TYPE_PPP){
DWORD dwTotal = mir.dwInOctets + mir.dwOutOctets;
return dwTotal;
}
}
}
}
else{
STLOG_WRITE("Errore in GetIfTable %d",dwRetVal);
}
GlobalFree(ifTable);
return 0;
This code work good for about 3 hours, but for an unknow reason the function GetIfTable return ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER, and I don't understand why.
Can someone help me?
Thanks

I´m writing a program for printing to bluetooth serial port profile.
Since it is managed like a serial port connection I´m able to send data to the printer, but the problem is that if I turn off the printer while sending data, the application doen´t detect it.
Could anyone tell me if there is some way to check the status of the connection ?

Hi all.
I had a look at microsoft's web and I saw a SP3 update for Compact Framework 1.1. Its has two editions, Ddeveloper and Customer.
Customer installs the update on the device (PDA or so) via Async...
and Developer edition only installs some emulator updates for the desktop Visual Studio 2003.
But... how do I update the .NET Compact Framework of the desktop Visual Studio 2003? Is it neccesary?
Thanks to all!!

I don't know why embedded visual studio 4 sp3 does this but it checks all the dependant files in a multiproject workspace. My project has several DLL's in the workspace, 6, and when ever I start the debuger it checks each one multiple times on the handheld. It takes about 5 minutes to get the debugger up and running each time I have to stop and compile. Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening. Is there a registry hack or a setting I am not seeing? It has become increasingly anoying. By the way eVC 3 did not do this. This is new to version 4.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

I've developed a simple C# program (for PocketPC), and It sometimes crashes with an unhandled exception... and I thing it is related to UI matters. The message is this:
Exception
Application::Run+0xf
Form1::Main+0xa
Mi application read info from serial port (from a GPS), with this event handler:
private void OnDataReceived(object sender, SerialDataReceivedEventArgs e) <br />
{ <br />
while(port != null && port.BytesToRead > 0) <br />
{ <br />
int Cnt = port.Read(portBuf, portPos, 1); <br />
<br />
if (Cnt != 0) <br />
{ <br />
if (portBuf[portPos] == '\n') <br />
{ <br />
string sentence = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(portBuf, 0, portPos-1); <br />
AddResult(sentence); <br />
<br />
portPos = 0; <br />
} <br />
else <br />
{ <br />
portPos++; <br />
} <br />
} <br />
}
} <br />
After much investigation, now I am able to cause that exception by clicking a button. The code is this, simple one:
<br />
private void btnClosePort_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) <br />
{ <br />
Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor; <br />
<br />
Thread.Sleep(1000); <br />
<br />
try <br />
{ <br />
port.DataReceived -= new SerialDataReceivedEventHandler(OnDataReceived); <br />
Thread.Sleep(1000); <br />
<br />
port.Close(); <br />
port.Dispose(); <br />
port = null; <br />
} <br />
catch (Exception ex) <br />
{ <br />
AddResult("-->Failure"); <br />
AddResult(ex.ToString()); <br />
} <br />
<br />
Cursor.Current = Cursors.Default; <br />
<br />
AddResult("-->Closed"); <br />
} <br />
Notes: AddResult simple does add strings into a ListBox.
The really strange thing is this: if I remove the AddResult(sentence) call in "OnDataReceive", the exception is not thrown.
Could it be any bug related to UI ?
My hardware: iPAQ 2100 , Windows Mobile 2003 SE
Hope you can help me
Thanks to all!

Hello everybody?
I am trying to know how I can detect changes in data streams.
But I don’t have any practice this field.
I found 1 paper and read it. But I didn’t understand fluently it. ( http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~shai/vldb04.pdf)
If you have any idea about detecting changes in data streams, can you help me?
Also can you explain to me algorithm that presented paper?
What is distance anything?
My e-mail address is u_bulga@yahoo.com.
Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you

Hi,
I'm using vb.net and a Windows CE.net device. I have three xml Files that I want to read into a single Dataset so that I can use a dataRelation. The copy method used to a copy a table doesn't seem to be supported in the compact framework. Any ideas how you do this?
I'm trying to use the dataset.readxml method to get the tables into three datasets and then combine the tables into one dataset.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

|
|
|
|
This is quite old but I landed here as I was looking for something related.
using ReadXML works only with one file at a time; Once the first file is read the subsequent once wont be read. It creates one dataset with one table.
Alternative way would be to create a dataset for each of the xml files then merge the datasets.
There seems to be a way of creating the dataset from the xsd file and thus retain relationships and constraints. I am looking out for that badly!

Hi,
I have an Intermec 700C device running PPC2003 1ST EDITION and I'm looking
for a way to to change the screen orientation programmatically. I have
already tried the API "ChangeDisplaySettingsEx" function but it didn't work.
I know that the Second Edition supports this, but the manufacturer says that
upgrading to the Second Edition the existing devices that my client already uses is
not possible. Therefore the OS has to remain PPC 2003 1st Edition.
After some investigation, it seems that the only way to do this is by
creating a display driver that supports screen rotation using a tool by
Microsoft called the "Platform Builder" which is usually supplied to device manufacturers.
Unfortunately, this is not included with my MSDN Subscription, so my
question is if anybody knows where can I find a display driver that
supports screen rotation with PocketPC 2003 First Edition?
I also know that there is a utility to do this but the customer requires
that I do it from within the application(that is programmatically).
TIA

I am new to windows and C++ programming. I am developing an evc++ 4.0 application for a handheld
computer running CE .NET 4.2. I have a dialog with many edit box controls. How do I change focus to
the next control in the tab order when the user enters the max number of characters allowed for the
current control. (I have defined the max number of characters by creating member variables via the
ClassWizard.). Do I have to check for an EN_CHANGE message and then check the length and then call
NextDlgCtrl or is there an easier way? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
