You'll have to create a new Font object. You can use the properties from the existing object you have to fill in the new Font object's constructor parameters, changing the ones you want to have different values.

Hi! I am a vb.net newbie, and I have been trying to figure out how to print the contents of a datagrid. I’m trying to use the PrinterClass I downloaded from this site:
When I use the print preview control I get the ‘Object reference not set to an instance of an object’ error message. This is what the message says: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at System.Windows.Forms.PrintPreviewControl.CalculatePageInfo() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbacks()
When I try the print control, I get an exception Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The breaks at CurrentY = CurrentY + CType(PrintGrid.Headers.GetValue(0), Header).Height.
Please Help! This has me pulling my hair out like crazy!

Hii All,
I am trying to assign current date ( todays date ) to a variable. Any suggesstions ?

I take it you're looking for the current date data and not a string.
Dim currDate As Date = Date.Now()

You probably want to look into using crystal reports for this. Once the user has selected a row form the Datagrid you can move that row into a data table, bind that to a crsytal report, and then export that to a pdf.

I would look at the PrintDocument class and related. You can push these document types write to a printer such as the Adobe PDF Writer.

You could also look at pushing the documents to a PostScript printer and saving it to a file. Then converting it to a PDF using GhostScript.

hi all friend
how i can create a setup for my program that when setup is running, based on that which user select, program be started, or my data base be set.

This is too general and complicated a question to answer on this forum.
However, the VS.NET IDE Setup tools allow to you add generic dialogs with radio buttons etc, that you can use to present the user with various options. And there is also an Installer class that you can program to execute a process like building a new database.
Search the MSDN and experiment is the best advice I can give you.
If you have a more specific problem once you get started on your own, tpost it and you will probably get a better response.

Hi all,
I am new to VB.Net, I have developed a windows application using VB.Net.
I have created a setup file for that so that anyone can install and run my application.
The problem is before setting up the application, the system should have Microsoft .Net Framework compulsory. So what i want is before setting up the application the setup should check whether is system already has Framework or not. If present then the setup continues else it should tell that .Net Framework is not available you need to install it before installing application. If possible is there any possiblity where on setting up the application the setup file checks for Framework and installs automatically.
If yes is there a way to include Framework in the Setup File
Same is the case when there is already .Net Framework but with a older version.
This is urgent
Thanks in Advance

Hi all
I have a client recently who wants to create a template for outloof with a reference number (auto-increment) whenever he sends out mail to a particular person. From outlook one can create a template but not the auto number.
Anyone have any idea on using VB or any other languages to construct this auto running number template?
I have not use VB before but understand from feedback that programming for outlook using VB is the simplest.
Thanks in advance.

I've worked with Outlook and other Office apps before and I find that VB.Net is the easiest language to use when coding for MS Office (mostly because of its oh-so-forgiving nature in allowing direct calls to the Office interop functions instead of using PInvoke and also not having to pass Missing as parameter value in VB).
However, VB.Net and C# are quite interchangeable you shouldn't have any difficulties in switching between the two.
To create a template you need to have an OFT file (google how to create it if you don't know how, it's pretty simple) and publish it to the client's PC (or a shared folder).
The easiest way I can think of is for you to store a running number as an xml file in the client's PC (or a database if necessary) and increment it after each use (i.e. sending an e-mail).
If you're also using Exchange Server you might be able to store the data in Exchange (e.g. bind the value to the particulare e-mail address).

hi
thanks... but just need to ask... how do you bind the data to exchange end extract it to your desired position (i'm totally clueless regarding exchange)
eg of mail template
Ref: (Running number) 20/09/2005
