I need to spawn one exe from another running exe on pocket PC.
After the spawning the first exe can end or not I don't care.
According to the documentation I should be able to:
ExecuteAssembly(ExeName)
but this will not compile VB.net- "Name ExecuteAssembly is not declared"
C#.net- The name 'ExecuteAssembly' does not exist in the class or namespace
Then another part says use AppDomain.Create Domain.
this compiles but throws NotSupportedExceception.
documentation says that it is supported.
All my old tricks have been rendered useless:
Spawn
Exec
System
Shell
Please Help the struggling proggrammer thanks for your support.

Actually, the CAB file is easy - use cabwiz.exe. What I *really* want to know is how to do the equivalent of a 'Build | Build CAB File' menu command, from the command line, so that it makes my (very complex) .inf file automatically for my autobuild.
Visual Studio 2003 / .Net 1.1 / PPC
Ideas, anyone?
TIA

No Not like a cell phone anyway, You could use something like Skype, but you'd always need to be in range of a Wi-Fi connection. If you looking for PocketPC Phones check out http://www.phonescoop.com/[^] they have a list of them there....

Hi,
i´ve read a lot in doc about the HTTPD, but the described configuration entries doesn´t work.
In the project.dat file the following directories are created:
root:-Directory("MyFiles")
Directory("\MyFiles"):-Directory("TextFiles")
Directory("\MyFiles"):-Directory("TextLinks")
Directory("\MyFiles\TextFiles"):-File("Added2.txt", "\Windows\Added2.txt")
Directory("\MyFiles\TextLinks"):-File("Added.lnk", "\Windows\Added.lnk")
Directory("\windows"):-Directory("MyWeb")
Directory("\windows\MyWeb"):-File("Added2.txt", "\Windows\Added2.txt")
Directory("\windows\MyWeb"):-File("Added.lnk", "\Windows\Added.lnk")
In the project.reg file the httpd is configured as follows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD]
"IsEnabled"=dword:1
"DirBrowse"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\VROOTS\/]
@="\\"
"a"=dword
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\VROOTS\/www]
"(default)"="\\windows\\www"
"a"=dword
"DirBrowse"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\VROOTS\/Prog]
"(default)"="\\windows\\Programme"
"a"=dword
"p"=dword:1
"DirBrowse"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\VROOTS\/TextFiles]
"(default)"="\\MyFiles\\TextFiles"
"a"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\VROOTS\/TextLinks]
"(default)"="\\MyFiles\\TextLinks"
"a"=dword
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\VROOTS\/MyWebPage]
"(default)"="\\windows\\MyWeb"
"a"=dword
If i access a virtual path with http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/MyWebPage
or another path, always the error 404 not found occurs.
What´s wrong?
Can anybody help?
thanks.

I have to do a project in which the calls from a mobile is redirected to a PC or Laptop connected via data cable. These calls are then to be forwarded using VOIP to the destination. My concerns are how the calls can be redirected from the internal antenna to the dataport, how the data can be retrieved in the pc or laptop to forward it to internet?
If anyone has any idea of this or has done any such projects, please help me out.
Thanks
Sujith

So I'm looking into creating a simple Profile Manager for my Pocket PC Phone (i-mate JASJAR - with Windows Mobile 5.0), since there is currently no concept of Phone Profiles for this phone. These profiles would follow the same concept as with normal cell phones, allow you to change the ringtone, speaker volume, ringer volume, etc...
Plus I also want to create an application, the simple GPS portion of the project, that would work with this Profile Manager, this application would check to see what Cell Tower your currently connected to and change the profile depending on that. That way I could keep track of a list of Cell Towers that my phone connects to while at work and use that information to determine that I'm currently at work and it should change my profile accordingly.
So I guess my question is where do I begin. I've never really done any SmartPhone development and limited amounts of Pocket PC applications. I essentially need to do the following:
* Find the Cell Tower I'm currently connected too
* Ability to set the Speaker and Ringer volumes
* Ability to change the ring tone.
Can someone point me in the right direction for these bullet points? Plus would I be able to do all of this with the latest .Net Compact Framework 2.0 build, or would I need to learn Embedded C++ in order to perform these tasks?

Good day,
I'm using Embedded Visual C++ 3.0 on my development. I'am given so LITTLE TIME to do my task, so I'm planning to bring my task at home. Unfurtunately my pc at home is stand-alone(doesnt have network -thou I have network card but can't afford yet to have an internet con.). I wanted to run the emulator(Pocket PC 2002) at home but the protocol used is TCP/IP. My Emulator cant connect to the Platform manager so I cant transfer files and debug my program. I've search here in the office on how to connect emulator with active sync (see site below).
.(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/devguidesp/html/sp_intro_to_the_ce_emulator_zjht.asp)
However, I dont have that null modem cable nor serial cable at home. Can anybody help me how I could communicate my emulator with EVC3.0?
Any suggestion would be a great Help.
Thanks

To the best of my knowledge this is not possible with Pocket IE, the default browser on Pocket PCs. This browser only allows for a single window open at a time. There are other 3rd party browsers, such as Mobile Opera, that may support what your looking for, but if you want to reach the widest audience you will have to program you site with a single window in mind. so instead of creating a popup page you will have to navigate to the Help page, then on the Help page you would simply have a "back" button that would bring the user back to the place they game from.
To make sure you don't lose the functionality you want, you will have to check to see what platform your webpage is currently being viewed on, then display the appropiate site.

thanks drofnas
can u help me in one more aspect
As many of you may know, Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC does not actually close applications when you hit the little 'X' in the corner. It basically just minimizes it. I am working on an web application that requires a user to login (via a wireless network) whenever they start up the program. The problem that exists, is that if a user logs in and uses the system and then thinks that they closed it; another user could come along and start the program right up where the previous one left off under the previous user's username! Any suggestions?
any help in this regard will be appreciated.
