This would be dependant on the terminal app your using, not any keyboard mapping in Windows.

I have used notpad, wordpad, putty, and SSH terminal login. They all give the same result.
Additionally, the left shift key + \ will close a dialog window (much like esc or the SC_CLOSE event),...however the right shift key + \ does not add the carriage return nor does it act as an SC_CLOSE event.

Then you've got something else going on in your system. Perhaps some other application hooking the keyboard? A virus or trojan? A trainer for some game?
Start the machine in Safe Mode and see if it does the same thing.
There is no keyboard "mapping" to change.

Hi,
My name is Liran, Im working on a project that the server is written in java technology (APACHE TOMCAT) and we considering now to turn the client to windows application instead of web. Our main option is to choose .net c# as our client technology and the connection to the server will be by web services on the server side (the webservices is written in java).
I already made a prototype to check it and it worked really good.
Im trying to get some information about the risks that i need to take into consideration if i choose this option. so if someone already dealt with it ill really appriciate your help.
Best regards,
Liran

i create a new standard calendar with c#.net
and want to force windows to use it.

What are you talking about? Force Windows to use what?
Are you talking about replacing the Date/Time Control Panel applet? You'll have to write a new control panel app and just replace the timedate.cpl with yours.

I can't download any file which has the extension of rss from the server, but all the .txt and .rar etc files seem downloadable, Is it because of some kind of file type registration mechanism of Win 2003 or

I solve the problem by adding an entry in MIME type of specific website property HTTP header, which has the extension of .rss and MIME type RSS File. But I wonder why .rar file doesn't have the entry but still downloadable?

While my PC is running and electricity goes off unexpectedly, it does not shut-down permanently. It restarts automatically on restoration of electricity.
I am using Windows XP and I have set Home/Office desk Power Scheme under display properties. But it does not help.
How can I set my PC so that it does not automatically restart on restoration of electric power.
Any help is appreciated.

Do you want to run 24 hour per day? How frekvently does it happent? Is this a Power Failure?

Thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion but it did not help.
We have frequent power failures, here. In this case I can not leave my PC un-attended with the fear of it remaining On after power restoration while I am away for long hours.
Further assistance will be appreciated.

It is possible your power suppluy have a problem. Try to disconnect a cd rom or something else that you do not need that. If that helps, then go buy a new power suppluy. Some Power Suppluy after 4 years of working, will not work propeply and if there are a lot of devices on that suppluy, it will see like been turnd off on some devices.
I hope you understanded that.

This setting will be in the BIOS configuration screens somewhere. I would recommend finding your motherboard manual to locate the setting that you need to change. It will probably be called something like 'On AC Power Restored' and the options are usually 'On', 'Off', and 'Last State'. It sounds like yours is currently set to 'Last State', i.e. if the PC was currently running when the power went out, it will start up again.
You might want to consider investing in an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) if your AC power fails frequently. While Windows XP uses the NTFS file system, which is journalled (all changes to the main file system structures are written to a log before being applied to the master locations on disk), only file system structures are protected (not changes to data in your files), and so you can lose data.

It's controlled by the BIOS these days, Reboot and have a look at the Power Options in yours.

Tools, Folder Options, View tab, uncheck "Use simple file sharing", click OK. I don't think this works on Home Edition.

Does NOT work in HOME Edition, but a patch/fix can be downloaded and installed to "make" it behave like Pro.

Try to use Repair or Reinstall Office
|
|
|
|

I did that, But still that didn't fix the issue

I have search my commupter for System.mdw and it isn't installed with Office. Open Accsess without oppening database. Then Chose from menu "Tools", "Security" and "Admin Workgroup". Then this wizard will create System.mdw.
PS: I have slovenian version of Office, so this translated menu option may not be accurate
