Hi, does anyone have a problem while using USB mouse with a laptop? I have a problem with my new laptop. If i use the touch pad to move the mouse and click it is fine. But when i connect the new USB mouse to the system, the mouse pointer seem to move slow from it orginal location while i did not touch the mouse or mouse pad. It really make me annoy with this mouse so much because i did not feel comfortable while using my PC. Does any one have any solution to fix it?

I already test this option last and finally i could found the result. Whether i change the motion option with the mouse, but it still have a problem. The mouse still move itself while i did not touch it. But when i try to change the new mouse it is working fine and very comfortable for me. So i can say that, the problem came from the quality of the mouse. I'm gonna to change it soon.

Hi,
I've also seen this happen many times with a notebook having both touchpad and USB Mouse. Usually, the trick is to deactivate the onboard touchpad. The PC gets confused with the X/Y coordinates information coming from two active pointing devices at the same time. I have seen the cursor begin to wander on its own without touching anything! Deactivating the touchpad solved my problem immediately.

Thank you very much for your comment. I already deactivate the touch pad but the problem still remain. As i reply in the previous thread, the problem came from the quality of the mouse. When i try to attach the problem with other PC it also have this kind of problem. And when i change the new mouse for my laptop the new mouse working fine wether i de/activate the touch pad.

Hi, i have a file in windows explorer of windows xp pro. I want to prevent the user to copy the file out of this computer. which method below that is appropriate to use:
- Turn of copy command in windows explorer menu or right click menu. Is it possible to do that in regedit?
- Hide all removeable media such drive A:, flash drive, CDRW, bluetooth...
- Turn of the Save As command in relate document editor.
- Turn off short cut key Ctrl + C in windows explorer.
- Encrypt the file (using windows encryption system or other external tool such as http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/EncryptFile.asp[^]). But the owner could decrypt it back... I want admin to encrypt it but user just use it as normal but could not copy it to outside.
- Using Information Right Management?
If anyone of you used to challenge this kind of problem please let me know which solution that is good for me to choose.

That is pretty easy for WinXP pro.
Select Start->Run. Type "gpedit.msc" without qoutes and press ok.
then search under administration templates for setting. Then i suggest that you make sure that account is limited. If a user knows how to correct this setting, with admin rights he can return to previus setting

Thank you for your comment. I already check an option as your comment and found some option that could offer to my need but not completely. One of option that i found that is usefull is prevent the user to burn the file to CD. And around two or three more option are pretty good too. It is a little bit difficult stage while I allow the user to access while but try to prevent them from distribute the file out of my PC.

If you Encrypt under diffrent account, then others account cannnot open (but can delete)

Thank you very much for your comment. I also concern about this issue too. I think the best option might be the Information Right Management. Because an introduction page give me an information that I search for. But I don't know that IRM could protect only Ms office file or to the overall file in windows such as the file create in QuickBook. I have the financial report in QuickBook file and what i want just allow the user to edit to the file in his profile but don't want to allow him to copy the file out of the computer.
How about auditing the file? Is it possible to audit the target file? For example, the date/time, user account that access the file... The behavior that make to the file such as rename, delete, copy... Is it possible to do that?

You can find in Group Policy
Remove Windows Explorer's default Context menu
Prevent access to drivers from My Commputer (You can select whitch drives)
Hide these specified drivers in My Commputer (You can select whitch drives)
and you must uninstall any FileManager (Or at least prevent the user to have the shortcut)
You said that you have disable CD burning featurs. But can you still burn with NERO?

If so then the radio, tv or even computer monitor can be hazard to health.

In my opinion i think TV, radio signal also impact human health but i don't have any refernce or document to state about it. How about the signal of the mobile phone? Is it affect the human health or not?
I ask about wireless networking signal because i want to use a wireless network at home but i'm afraid that it signal could cause my family health have a prooblem in the future.

There nothing that says it does. And nothing that says it doesn't either.
I would imagine that it's no different than using a cell phone.

There was some research somewhere in yurp over here, and the outcome was that if you call with your mobile phone +- 1 hour a day, you have 10% more chance for headcancer. Dunno were i read it though  .

My Dad has just applied this and now cannot access the Internet. What are some likely causes? Unfortunately, I can only help him out over the phone at the moment. I will also do a web search, but in the meantime, any suggestions?
He's also running Norton Internet Security 2004, which I strongly suspect is doing something strange. One possibility is that Norton Firewall has blocked IE. I do find that occasionally Norton blocks things which were previously allowed and you have to unblock them again. But I've not had the chance to guide him through checking the Norton settings yet. Also, is there a problem having both Windows Firewall and NortonFirewall enabled?
