I've created a Crystal report which connects to an Access database to get its data. I have a Crystal report viewer control on my VB form to view the report. When I run the app on another computer and try to view the report a database login screen comes up. The screen has the wrong file path to the database it is trying to connect to. Typing in the right path makes it work but how can I have it automatically know what the correct file path is?
Thanks

Are you giving the COMPLETE path to the viewer when you launch it from your code?

If you mean the complete path to the viewer DataSource then yes I do. (I want to make the path a variable instead). But anyhow this path is not the same path that is displayed in the Crystal Database login screen.
I think it finds the report file but it cannot find the Database file so the login in screen comes up. How can I supply Crystal Reports the location to the runtime database file instead of the development database file (My development database path and file name seems to be hard coded into my release version of the software).

Hey anyone here use the Janus controls? I am haveing a problem when trying to retrieve data from the data source. In short it reads them backwards. For example:
------------------------------
FirstName| LastName| Address |
------------------------------
FName1 | LName1 | SomeAdr1|
FName2 | LName2 | SomeAdr2|
FName3 | LName3 | SomeAdr3|
When retrieving the data after a mouse down say
Dim theData as DataRow = MyDS.Tables(0).Rows(Grid.Row())
Say the Row = 0 then i get: FName3 | LName3 | SomeAdr3|
Row = 1: FName2 | LName2 | SomeAdr2|
Row = 2: FName1 | LName1 | SomeAdr1|
I turned off the auto sorting but keep having this issue...Any sugestions?

Your best bet would be the support forums on www.janussys.com.
It's very unlikely that someone who has used the controls your talking about will see the this post before it falls off the bottom of the screen.

Not gonna happen. That's not how this site works.

Hi,
I am working with vb6 and owc11 and I get the following error when i try to call ExportPicture method from Chartspace:
"Run time error '430'.Class does not support Automation or does not support expexted interface".
I've tried also in VB.NET and I get also error.
I have installed owc11.dll 11.0.65555. Maybe there is an older version of the owc11 that is better than this, a link somtehing...
Thank you
George

I have a one dimension array of, for example, 20 elements. Is there any other way (than getting value by value) to copy the elemets 5 to 9 to a new array of 5 elements?

IIRC, there is no function to do that in VB6.

Perhaps you shoud take a look to the API
Public Declare Sub CopyMemory Lib "kernel32" Alias "RtlMoveMemory" (Destination As Any, Source As Any, ByVal Length As Long)
You can use it like this:
Dim xData(20) as Integer
Dim xDataNew(4) as Integer
Call CopyMemory(xDataNew(0), xData(10), 8)
Hope this is usefull for you.

Hello, the .Net-Framework produces an error that I don't knowing how to solve the problem.
I'm developing a UserControl (UserControl1). It has the following Property:
Dim _test As New PropertyClass(Me)<br />
<br />
<<DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _<br />
Public ReadOnly Property TestProp() As PropertyClass<br />
Get<br />
Return _test<br />
End Get<br />
End Property
The PropertyClass I have shorten to the following:
<<TypeConverter(GetType(ExpandableObjectConverter)), Serializable()> _<br />
Public Class PropertyClass<br />
<br />
Private _Parent As UserControl<br />
<br />
Public Sub New(ByVal Parent As UserControl)<br />
_Parent = Parent<br />
End Sub<br />
<br />
End Class
(Normaly there are some Properties and Methods in the PropertyClass).
If I add my Control to a form, switch a property-value and then change the view to the form-code an error occurs:
The Codegeneration for the Property 'TestProp' failures. Error: 'The Type UserControl1 in Assembly ... is not signed as serialisable.'
I work with a german version of .net, I hope the translation is understandable.
Why .net wants to serialise the UserControl1, it isn't a public property, only a private variable... If I remove the TypeConverter the Problem does not occur (but I need it . In another case my PropertyClass has the following Property:
<<Browsable(False), DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Hidden)> _<br />
Public ReadOnly Property Parent() As UserControl1<br />
Get<br />
Return _Parent<br />
End Get<br />
End Property
In this case the same error occurs. Has anybody a solution?

In Visual Basic 6 there was the easy possibility to set time and date of a computer by using following commands:
Time = TimeSerial(CInt(txtStunde.Text), CInt(txtMinute.Text), CInt(txtSekunde.Text))
Date = DateSerial(CInt(txtJahr.Text), CInt(txtMonat.Text), CInt(txtTag.Text))
Is there any similar and easy code in VB.NET
Thank you in advance!!!!!

Use the DateString and TimeString properties provided in VB.NET:
Public Function SetSystemDate(ByVal dateToSet As DateTime)
DateString = Format(dateToSet, "M-d-yyyy")
End Function
Public Sub SetSystemTime(ByVal timeToSet As DateTime)
TimeString = Format(timeToSet, "HH:mm:ss")
End Sub

Thank you very much for your help.
I'm using the german version of VB.NET and sometimes the help of VB doesn't really help. I was searching for "Set time" and "Set system time" in German and no useful link was found.
One porblem comes with the TimeString. If I want to set my time to 10:00 AM my time is set to 9:00 AM. I think this is a topic of the timezone. We are one hour ahead of UTC-Time (GMT). Searching the help because of this topic I found "TimeOfDay" proberty. This works without paying attention to timezone or something else (like daylight saving time).
Once again Thank you!
