Anyone knows anything about the Microsoft HtmlLite control? It ships as HTMLLITE.DLL as part of the setup program of VisualStudio.NET, and exports some interesting functions I'd like to know more about, like:

I found nothing in MSDN online, other than the standard entry in the DLL database, which doesn't tell me anything....

Hello all. I've got a datagrid control with it's first column set up as a TemplateColumn containing a bound HyperLink Control. How do I get at this control from the CodeBehind Page. Simply using FindControl returns Nothing (or Null, for you C#ers).

I just switched over from 6.0 to .NET and now i cannot access a few of my dialogs. These dialogs come up and say 'The ActiveX control "Microsoft FlexGrid Control, version 6.0" could not be instantiated because it requires a design-time license.'.
Does this mean i can't use this control without paying MS more money?!?! and if so where would i go to find out how much a license costs? i just dont get it.. it let me use it in 6.0, how is .NET more functional when it takes away my available controls!? 
any insight would be much appreciated!

You have that license in VS 6.0 (VB, VC, etc)...
When you distribuit the constrol don't have problem, don't need license for display the control, you only need license for use in design mode..... Is for that if you have the VS, you have the license for use in design-mode...

Hey. I know this probably isnt the best place to put this but no other forum is about this.
I have a website I am designing. www.myriadtheatre.com
The company I am doing this for are on a low budget hense only HTML and Javascript allowed. I have a row of tabs at the top that when clicked goto another page, simple enough. I also have a target page that has a iframe(the Shows page) I wish to create a link that will first go to the shows page and then change the iframe automatically based on the link I click. So instead of seeing the default shows page, It will go directly to a specific shows page. I was thinking about a string on the end of the URL that can be used by some javascript on the shows page but alas...I'm not an expert on javascript and web pages.
Any help would be appreciated. Plus we need a general webdesign forum!

I use several macros and a few plugins for VC6. Will the macros work in VC7? What about the add-ins?

Macros will run with some slight modifications (use of the DTE namespace etc.). I also use a handful macros and rewriting them was easy (maybe 15 minutes of work).
Add-ins won't work since they are totally different in VS7.
One word about macros: one of my macros terribly messes up the IntelliSense feature of VS7 - after using it, IntelliSense just won't appear until restarting VS7. So sometimes it's wiser to rewrite a macro instead of just modifying it.

The VC6 sample macros have been rewritten for VC7 so you can have a look at those to see the differences.

Hi,
I had a project under visual c++ 6.0 to produce a static library (using MFC shared DLL). I just migrated the project under Visual c++ .NET and after recompilation, my library is twice bigger in size (in release or debug mode). This problem doesn't occur when I try to migrate a DLL project.
Any idea ?

I have seen a thread or two about this in the Microsoft forum's but there haven't been any reply's to them yet. In Visual Studio .NET Classview, when you double-click on a function/variable/structure (whatever) the cursor is not placed where it should be.
Actually, if the file is not open in VS.NET it will be placed in the right position, otherwise it is not.
Is this just an issue for me and a few others? Or is this a known issue and Microsoft knows about it ..

Confirmed. Sometimes the cursor is placed on some totally wrong place. Can't say whether it only happens when the file is open though...

Yep. I've pinned it down to only occuring in C++ projects when the outlining feature is enabled ..
I have disabled outlining for my VC++ .NET projects and the classview behaves right. Everybody is obviously not having this problem, however I hope that Microsoft finds a fix for the few of us by the first SP.

I no I'm getting away from what this thread started out on... but.
I see you really are using VC++ 7.0. When I create a dialog in VC++ 7.0 I get a HTML version as well as the resource and DoModal seems to use them both. Have you seen any of this?

Yeah, by default the class CHTMLDialog is used instead of CDialog. You can ofcourse change this to CDialog when you first create the class for the dialog.
I guess it's Microsoft's way of trying to push people to using the HTML type dialog as it offers the possibility of richer dialogs etc. ...

Oh... then if I use the html code do I just delete the buttons off the resource so I don't have the buttons showing up twice?
If I go with CHTMLDialog can I still use the graphic interface for adding controls to the html?

You can indeed delete the buttons off the resource. I haven't fooled around with CHTMLDialog too much yet .. this next project I'm doing will have me doing it though.

Yah i just encountered the same pain in the butt.. turn off the outlining (which is one of the coolest features ).. and keep your fingers crossed that it will work one day soon.. it works when outlining is on, but only the first time you double click on the class/function.. doesn't seem to affect double clicking on variables, but that looks at the .h not the .cpp.. anyone got a phone number for a MS developer to make sure they are workin on it?
