In VB 2005, you can omit the ".Chars":

Hello! 
I have a problem in my application that occurs after screen resolution changes. It crops the background image of the form. So the form's background image looks cropped after change from (800 x 640) to (1024 to 768). I have developed application for (1024 x 768) screen format.
Any idea how can I solve the problem!

I'm assuming .NET 1.1...
You'll have to resize the image your using for the background yourself. You can do this by drawing the background image yourself in the OnPaint event of the form. Use the ClientSize property of the form to determine the correct size. This will also work if the user grabs a side or corner of the form and resizes it to something smaller than the screen dimensions.

Hi,
I would like to design an application to allow shoppers to check if the stocks they have in mind have arrived in a stall.
I have to use a modem which acts as the stall's SMS center and use SMS to test the program. To find out availability of stocks, the user will have to SMS to the SMS centre to specify stocks details such as:
• Model / Type
• Quantity
• Size
• Colour
Customers just have to wait for the SMS centre to notify them that the stocks have arrived. Their specified stock requests as well as their contact details are automatically stored in the database system. Staff will update the database when new stocks have arrived and the consumers will be untomatically notified once the database finds a match between customers’ request and stocks’ availability.
Customers can also easily change their requests at any time through the use of SMS.
How do i start to put this idea into codes?

If you assign a data source to a datagrid, it will generate the rows and columns from the source when you databind.

My application assigns a datasource and datamember to a combobox in a datagridview based on the selection from another combobox in the grid. Everything is fine until the datasource is changed. If any previous selection is not in this datasource it disappears. It will become visible when a datsource has it as a member. My source is the new tableadapter which contains several differnt queries to choose from.
My question is how can I keep the selections visible when the datsource changes. Even if I save it to the base table it will not show up until the value is a meember in a datasource.

Hi,
there is no direct way to do this. You will have to make it yourself:
1. Derive a new class from DataGridTextBoxColumn
2. Override the paint function (the one with the most parameters)
3. Get the value with function GetColumnValueAtRow
4. Choose a color depending on the value
5. Call the paint function in the base class with your choosen background color
6. Use this new column style in your table style instead of the normal DataGridTextBoxColumn (naturally only in those columns where you wish to change the color)

Ok this may sound stupid but do you have debug rights in windows. You can't start the debugger unless you are administrator or have been added to the 'Visual Studio Debuggers' group in the user management of windows.

Right-Click MyComputer on your desktop. Click on Manage. In the window that opens up, double-click Local Users and Groups on the left. Open the Groups folder. You should find the Visual Studio Debuggers group. Double-Click that. If you're Username is not in this list, you can't launch the debugger. Simply add yourself to this group to give yoursefl debuggin rights.
