I have a web application written in asp.net using vb.net. I have a problem with windows prompting to auto remember passwords for my webpage. This worked fine on my page, autofilling usernames and associating and autofilling passwords UNTIL I added a textbox for searching in the menu control (.ascx) located at the top of the page no longer making the username and password texboxes the first textboxes on the page. If i take the search textbox off of the page, windows then starts prompting me to associate passwords with the autofilled usernames. If the search textbox is on the page, windows no longer will associate passwords with the autofilled usernames; but does still remember usernames. I believe that the problem is some how associated with the username and password textboxes no longer being the first 2 textboxes on the page. does anyone know why this is happening??? is there a way to associate two textboxes so that windows will autofill passwords when their?

And page_2 has frames.
Is there any way I could open page_2 with a specific frame indicated in a link in page_1?
Using HTML and JavaScript only!

Yes, assuming you own page_2. The easiest way is to simply set up a new frameset document for each frame that you might need loaded, and navigate to the appropriate one. An alternative is to set up some javascript in the frameset document that parses the URL appropriately.
If you don't own page_2, then you're pretty much out of luck, unless the page has already been set up to handle this sort of navigation (example: Most page requests on MSDN are redirected to default.asp, with the original path in the url= parameter).

I have a very weird bug and will welcome gracefully any help
We developed ASP.Net application that run on production server, Net Framework 1.1 , IIS 6.0, the application is huge, having hundreds of user controls and worked under massive requests load : 200-1000 connected sessions and millions of page views per day
The application is stable; the only and urgent problem is that:
About 10 times per day, more frequently at pick hours, we see this error in windows event log:

Please check your Setup.
After this the worker process that connected to application pool is recycled and application is extremely slowly till it loads all resources and updated all cache entries (we use server cache (HttpContext.Current.Cache) to save expensive queries results), it is unacceptable for our client.
The description of event is very general, and all my Google research can’t help me to find helpful information about source of event.
I do not believe that somebody can tell me exactly the source of the problem,
But any instructions about what I can to do research the problem: debugging tools, some tools to get more descriptive event source description, general tips how to research this kind of problem would be very, very welcome

I dont know exactly the reason of ur prob but I got same kind of problem some times back. I was using remoting where my remote object on server was accessing the MSMQ on another machine for some client requests. The path of the Queue was wrong, so the instantiation of that object was generating the error on client and since the Runtime failed to handle such kind of errors, it gives this one.
I think u may get some idea.

actually we solved the problem with help of some guys on Google groups
our problem was recursion between 2 public properties of some user control that was happening in very limited comnditions
what was finally used to find the solution (and now we will able to find the reason of any problem like this) is DebugDiag tool that creates a dump file when app.pool process is crushes and WinDebug to read the dump and find line of code that cause the problem

hi!
i am having a serious problem in displaying message in HTML message.
i am using webbased from cum sending email application, from where a html page created and along with that an email send in HTML format if i use text formta it is working perfectly, but i when i use HTML format it not showing full message body at Pegasus mail4.0. when i check the email on rediffmail, hotmail, outlook express, yahoo. there the all format and data are showing correctly there are no data loss. only in pegasus i getting problem sometime half of data, sometime 3/4 of data are displaying formatting are also not there, using style sheet if i put different different colour to the message body text. its showing black only for pegasus, others are showing perfectly allright.
can any one help me out? i can produce varible declaration and send mail code also, if requried.

Suppose, I have a web application its url is "http://localhost/arindamdt/default.aspx"
But I dont want to type complete URL in the browser ... rather I want to give a string value suppose a name like "MyApplication" to the browser and I want browser to load the above mentioned url. How to do it ? Please help.

What you have to do is that you tell IIS know which file is default one...

As of now I created one virtual directory and I mentioned default.aspx as default page. So right now I have to give minimum "localhost/arindamdt" so that it loads the application. But If i give only "arindamdt" browser starts searching in the internet.
Created virtual directory name "arindamdt" mapped to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MyWebPage\default.aspx.
Please help.

Why I want to do it ?
Type spiproject in the browser you will get one web application is comming up to your browser. You just simply type "spiproject" nothing else.
Like that since I am devoloping one web application for myselt ( own web portal you can say ) and I want anyone typing "arindamdt" should be able to get the web application.
So my requirement is comming up from there. 
Anxiously waiting for your suggestions and help.

IMO, you have to specify which host that IE will know to access to. Let's say if your site is published on internet. And user just type in the web application name. DNS will try to find the web server whose name is the same as your application name.
Certainly, it'll be failed.
That's what I thought. Hope you can find a solution for this. If so, post it here

In your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) you can add an entry. You will find localhost in the file, you can add any name you like in the same way. Then you add that name in the properties for your web site, so that the server knows what to show when you use that name.
This of course only works on your own computer. If you want a name that everyone can use you have to use a real domain name.

I entered "10.0.101.104 debu" in the file(c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) you mentioned. (10.0.101.104 is my IP address).But then only thing has been changed that earlier I was entering "http://localhost/arindamdt" and now I am entering "http://debu/arindamdt" but I dont want to type more than one word to get the application in browser i.e. I want to type, suppose either "dubu" or "arindamdt" ( whichever can be ). And browser should be able to load the particular web application.
This is my requiremet.
Hope to get some more points.

I don't think you can do this-
even if you type microsoft into your browser it will try and search for the site (unless you have it in your cache) you always have to type something like localhost/arindamdt so your computer can find your application
