I have a few bucks lying around.... oh you mean that kind of expensive.
In that case, don't worry about it at all. I would rather have to click [next] a few times and be happy that CP works speedily

I think it would be much more easier to view more than 50 threads in fact!
50 threads is good but if there is a discussion and there is 20 replies to one thread you can't see so many other new threads.... I can't explain so that much good, but hope you understand me!

If there was a bit of text that would only appear in the title of a top-level post, we could use the search [set options] to see only those posts - then click 'view entire thread' to see the replies if we thought it was interesting.
Not that I dislike the current style. It's just that since we've been allowing Australians on the site, things tend to get very cluttered during the night. This makes it tough for people in civilized countries to catch up in the morning. Not that vegemite topics aren't important you understand but...

Or, I could stop being a complete dork and try the 'Thread view' setting...
Geez
But, the idea I had would at least allow you to look at the first message without a full download - hmmm - guess the TV is not DHTML... hmmm...
still later
Oh - yes - I see now - cool - might be a bit slow on a dialup but this is nice...

Hmmm, OK. Maybe Chris can do that without too much work. I donno how he did this whole page thing anyway. But I'd have to stick to 25 cause of bandwidth limits.

When you enter HTML in the edit box for the text, it is HTMLEncode'd when it is displayed for edit. so < is in the source as < and IE renders that in the dialog box as < correctly.
However, the subject doesn't HTMLEncode, so a < entered is left in the source as < which renders in the edit box in IE as < and unless you pay attention and change it when you edit, will make whatever you are trying to do disappear.
Thank you for reading this bug report/HTML lesson
okay, so i am bored
------------
EDIT: In summary of everything below, it is probably a good idea to merely disable HTML in subjects, and just HTMLEncode the whole thing before it is put in the DB

I may have just missed something, but it would be good if you could search the forums. It'd be just a nice touch, nothing terribly important though.

Each forum has a search box on the right hand side. You can use that to search, just remember to change the Messages since otherwise you'll only see a limited number of results.
