This way "poor" people cannot go to the university then they cannot have a good job then they remain poor. And their sons the same. This is not democracy.
IMHO, loans are pretty fair: ones who benefit from education pay for it afterwards. If education is "free" for all, it means that people who never go to college pay for those who do. In effect, it means that poor pay for the rich.
But we are diving into politics here, and I prefer bashing C#

In one sense, that will always be the case, no matter what. The only way to avoid paying for the rich, is to become rich.
But I agree. We should stick to bashing C# in forums like this.

Good - I was afraid I got voted down because of my views on poor paying for the rich, but now that I see we both got voted down, I bet it was some C# "programmer"

A touchy and insecure one too. Well, I'd be on the edge too if I only had a Lego-version of templates.

If he wasn't insecure, he wouldn't need a garbage collector to take care of his memory in the first place.

Now we can sit down, relax, and count 1 votes from frustrated C#'ers.

I didn't vote you down.
I never vote down people telling their opinion.

You mean the lazy and/or stupid pay for the smart and/or hardworking people???

So you say that people who don't go to college are lazy and/or stupid? Or that poor people are lazy and stupid?

Hehe..
No if university/college is free, why wouldn't you go? So the poor paying for the rich argument is void, the only people who would not go are those that cannot pass or don't want to go.
Phew.. this is a Hornet nest....

No, if the "system" is fair. Poor pays only a little fee (or even nothing) and rich pays more.
Note that I'm not poor nor rich. I'm in the middle

Actually most of the millionaires either dropped out or never went to college.

How much was my student loan?
How much are you in debt just now?
I paid off my student loan about 5 years ago. However, since then..... (*think closure - just forget about it - it's not worth thinking about it any more - yes, I know she was a stupid cow who nearly wrecked your life, but its over now*)
Never mind.

Yes, she had lots of regular expressions - all of them highly manipulative.

Yeah, the first one is easy. I never had a student loan so the answer is zero. The second one, well lets just say running your own business is not cheap. Thank goodness for banks and low interest rates

Over here in Ireland the government abolished 3rd level fees a good while ago so there are no charges (other than a small registration charge at the beginning of each year... normally ~€400).

You and me both!
Interesting enough, my first "big" job was with Best Consulting, before they became Venturi Partners. I had several technical interviews, and believe it or not, I was never even asked about college.
About 3 weeks after I started with Best, one of the Sales guys happened to ask which college I had gone to. I replied that I hadn't, and that was the end of that!
