My project is actually lecture archiving . I suppose to screen capture whenever there is a refresh of any active application and when it does so , i will screen capture and save it into a file. However , before the screen capture occurs , there is a voice talking on a microphone which is connected to the PC and this voice is being recorded . So now I have 2 files . With these 2 files , I need to playback the voice recorded and at the same time show the captured screen output. I need to know if VB is capable of playing back the recorded voice and also show the captured screen ?

How about the MS Multimedia Control?
You can also use the Windows API to do this depending on what format your are saving your data to.

If I need to save the screen capture output into a file, and later i need to syunchronize with another file . What I mean by synchronizing with another file is that , when this screen capture file is open which shows the screen that I have just captured and at the same time I need to open another file which plays back a recorded sound file. Can VB do this ?

There are several ways to do this, here is one.
Private Sub Text1_Change()
'Check position of character
If len(Text1) = 3 then
If right(Text1,1) = "A" Or IsNumeric(Text1) = True Then
MsgBox "There's an A or an numeric in Text1 ", 64, "Error Message"
Exit Sub
End If
End If
End Sub

Hi,
Using another software package---Lotus Domino in this case---is it possible to access the functions or procedures of a component or DLL file that was developed with Visual Basic 6.0 (an ActiveX DLL)?
At this time Lotus Domino makes its own objects accessible via COM, but is not able to access third-party COM objects (including, presumably, VB DLLs). However, LotusScript is similar to VB script and (according to the documentation) it does support the DECLARE and INCLUDE syntax to access functions in C-generated DLL files... but the docs make no mention of VB-generated DLL files.
Any ideas or pointers to other sources?
Thanks!

I am developing a custom MMC extension for managing the configuration of an application. I would be pleased if somebody can explain me how to add subnodes dinamically to a node (as if I add a new database in the SQL Server enterprise Manager). Can I do this with the snap-in wizard for VB, or I have to write the snap-in with VC++?

You have to add a designer to your project and from there you can add listviews, oxcviews and so on.
Check out the VB MMC files and sample from Platform SDK. Its pretty cool.

In VB it is possible to create addins, for VB and C++ and outlook, etc etc.
i made an addin for vb, and i had to dim an application instance as a VBIDE.VBE,
my question is, what do i dim it as for Visual C++/Studio to recognise my dll as a valid addin???

I´m having some problem about storing a bitmap file into an Access 2000 field.
I have a form in visual basic that contains a picture box, from this picture box I generate a bitmap file. What I need now is to store this file into the Access database in a way that the Crystal Reports 8 could read later. I´ve been told to store the path of the bitmap file only, but if I do that, how to make Crystal Report show the picture instead of the path?
Another solution I heard is to use the Access 2000 "OLE data type", but I don´t know how. In this case I would need a piece of code as example.
If someone could help me, any of the solutions above would work for me. Thanks...
