You can't! You're violating the unique value constraint on the Primary Key column of your table. You simply cannot do that and cannot turn off the error.

Dave is right. The whole idea of the Primary key having the unique value is to prevent duplication

No, i dont wan to add duplicated ID Key, but i only want to message the Error as i want, after that i will edit it. But after my message is messaged, i receive system Error, i dont like that.

Then what does this mean:
Now i put into the grid a new row with the same key as another row.
??????
Now we're really confused. How are you adding this new record? Why are you trying to add a new record with a duplicate key? If you don't want the message to come up, don't put the duplicate key in! It's that simple...

I only want to catch error, because maybe someone can insert a new record into grid with the same key, and they dont know about english, they can not understand what the system error message means.

Your users should not be generating their own Primary Key's. They should not even be able to enter a Primary Key at all! These should be generated by the database itself.
Like I said, handle the error by not letting it happen in the first place. Don't give the user the opportunity to make the error come up.

The System.Diagnostics namespace has a Process class you can launch external programs with. You pass in the name of an executable file or a filename with an extension associated with an executable application.
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("c:\...\defrag.bat")
This code returns a Process object:
An overloaded Process.Start method takes a ProcessStartInfo parameter that let's you set process initialization values such as the WindowStyle.
You can also do all of this through the IDE by dragging a Process component unto your form from the Components area of the Toolbar.
Here is a good search start piont for more info http://www.google.com/search?complete=1&hl=en&q=system.diagnostics.process.start[^]
If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it.

There's no such thing anymore. That was a term used for certain types of DOS applications.
What exactly are you trying to do? You might be looking at a windows service application, but VB6 can't create one of these without using other software and/or hacks to get it to work.

Hi ,
I am using VB.net.I earlier asked the question about selecting the concerned treenode when the combobox item is selected.I was replied to apply the recursion.
Now for selecting any node , we use
Treeview1.selectednode = Treeview1.node(0)
But how I will select the jhdb nodes programically and the following path is placed in combobox.
c:\abc\def\ghi\jhdb
Thank You

TreeView can only have a single Node selected at any one time. So, the code you posted is how you do it.
Are you asking how to get data from each child node and populate a combobox with that?

Hi,
I am using vb.net . I want to know programically whether the particular node is already expanded or not .
The e.node.expand() does not return any value.
|
|
|
|
|
It's IsExpanded that will return the status of the node. Expand will actually expand the node, not return its status.

Hi,
I want to get the name and fullpath of the item of listview on which it is clicked.
|
|
|
|
|
You'll have to store that information in the Tag property of each ListViewItem object you add. Then just retrieve it later when the item is clicked on.

And those link had the code, albeit in VB6, but they had to code non-the-less.
If you want code written for you, you'll have to look someplace else.

Dear Friends
I have small project in which I read the cases of patient and write it in a text file. I want to write the complete deatil of each patient in one line so that when I will read patient I can easily write the record to other user database. but when I read the record according to line no it gets half record only. because the record is not writing in one line since it is very big .
Can u please give me some solution for this. I want to wirte each record on sinlge line of text file regardless of the how big the record is in length.
Thanks
