please help me on how to create optional text boxes. For example, i have a fault logger database in MS access and everyday i have different number of faults. The format is like this:
Fault1: Pallet Overhang
Fault2: Manual operation
Fault3: Film Break
if i will put too many text boxes for faults, it will consume spaces. I try to use combox box but it will end up the same as my problem in text boxes. How will i do optional text or combo box if i will input more than 3 faults?
tnx.

Hi,
I am trying to read an existing Binary Registry file, replace some string then write to a new registry file. However, I am not sure how to replace the text in a binary file. This example make an identical copy of the original. could someone tell me what I need to do to manipulate the tring that is written to the target file?
Public Function Sample()
Dim s1 = New FileStream("SrcFile.reg", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)
Dim s2 = New FileStream("c:\TgtFile.reg", FileMode.CreateNew, FileAccess.Write)
Dim br = New BinaryReader(s1)
Dim bw = New BinaryWriter(s2)
Dim byteRead As Byte
Dim j As Integer
For j = 0 To br.BaseStream.Length() - 1
byteRead = br.ReadByte
bw.Write(byteRead)
Next
br.Close()
bw.Close()
End Function
Thanks,
Zenly.

I have written an application which screen scrapes from web pages, however some of those web pages (third-party) generate Javascript errors, when the Internet Explorer Script Error dialog is diaplyed, all interaction with the web site is suspended pending acknowledgement of the dialog. I can get a handle to the dialog box but and send it a CLOSE event, however all that does is reduce te dialog to a title bar, what I want to know is, does anyone know how to get hold of the buttons inside the dialog box and click one programatically.

You tried to set the value of CanPlay to True. Since CanPlay is a ReadOnly property, you can't set it.

Hiya,
Is there a general good practice for the amount of code or logic you should put in a Class Instanciation eg "New"? Example being that when the New fires as the class is created I could do a great deal of logic. I kinda expect we should not put any logic in here except for validation that the object can be created new?
Thanks,
Kadi

You can put any amount of logic in the constructor that is reasonable to expect depending on what the class is doing. Some objects you would expect to be fully functional when they are created, for other objects it's natural that you have to do something to them before using them.
If for an example a class represents an object fetched from a database, the constructor might connect to the database and fetch the data if you supply a parameter that tells the constructor what data to fetch, but if you use a constructor without parameters it might just create an empty object.

You can use COM component Shockwave Flash (Flash.ocx).Before you do this example you have to install flash.
This is an example.
Flash MX
Create a button.
Select “Window” menu. Select “Development Panel --> Actions”
In the code editor, type this
on (release) {<br />
fscommand ("Button1");<br />
}
Save the movie. (“Untitled-1.fla”)
Select “Control” menu and Select “Test Movie”
Flash will create (“Untitled-1.swf”)
Exit from Flash.
VB.Net
Right click on the tool box. Select “Add/Remove Items…”. Select “COM Components”
Select “Shockwave Flash Object”. Click OK
Draw it on the form
Name it “SF1”
Right click on “SF1” and select “Properties”
Type the path to “Untitled-1.swf” in the “Movie URL” textbox.
Click OK
Double Click on SF1 ( go to Code Editor )
Select “FS Command” from Procedure List Box
Type this
Private Sub SF1_FSCommand(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As AxShockwaveFlashObjects.DShockwaveFlashEvents_FSCommandEvent) Handles SF1.FSCommand<br />
If e.command = "Button1" Then<br />
MsgBox("it works")<br />
End If<br />
End Sub
Run the programme
Click on Button1

Are you adding the controls dynamically? If so, are you remembering to add them to the form's control collection?

Hi Guys,
Well u can use the Anchor property to resolve this issue. By default the Anchor property is "Left,Top" for all the controls. Set this to "Left,Top,Right,Bottom" depending up on the position of the control where it is placed.
HAVE A NICE TIME CODING.
Regards..
Hari.

I have been watching this question since it appeared. When I write a program on my computer then try to run it on another one, it is always to big to fit on the screen. I have to crank my resolution down to write programs for other computers. When you buy a program it always seems to automaticly fit the screen of whattever computer that you run it on. I think that anyone who can answer this question will be helping more than the three of us!
Thanks, Garner
