I'm old and.. What ya expect from me! 14:53 20 Mar '06
First a bit about me..
I'm in the USA (I say that because folks seem to hate us) a nobody, and really old.. My first project was writing some code for a Intel 2004.. Late 1960? I forget.
I download ALOT of your posts I find in here.. I never do anything with them but look/run it if I can.. I just gasp in amazement on what you guys/gals do.. You are SMART!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I have a real question (Well to me it is real).. I have a web cam and I made a little html page to download images at different time intervals. Just HTML and Javascript. I want to save them to my local hard drive.. I KNOW/think I am not allowed to do that BUT there must be some way!
YOU CAN DO IT!
NO! I DO NOT want to rip off sombody elses hard work out on the web.. Just for use on my local home network (I do not want to use SQL or other database) Just to a folder on my hard drive (shared) that I can access remotely or at home.. Does this make and sense?
If it matters.. Just a JUNK D-LINK DCS-900W that has it's own server..(works but BAD pictures..... Sort of like my old eyes.. both together makes the PIC really bad!)... I can get the image (JPG). I am just not smart enough to save them someplace! I was trying to automate the Microsoft IE image toolbar that pops up over a image.. Yes I can do it manually (but what if i'm not there?) I gave up trying!.. Yes' I know.. everybody knocks IE as trash.. Well does what I want! and never had any problems YET!
All I have to work with is Microsoft C++ 6 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2002?
I just LOVE C#.. Basic... what is that?
I have a C# program I'd post as a good laugh for everybody.. But I don't know how.. Just something I did for a college class.. The instructor gave me a 'A' and NEVER looked at my code! Just the output... LOL..
Well, thanks for listening! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
As I would say.. Just me... will_george@sbcglobal.net.. Yes it is a real address. I have nothing to hide.. By the time I get it right I'll be dead!

I read your message and had a bonding moment! I wrote my first program in FORTRAN in 1968 using a key punch. So, I may be around your age. However, I kept up with the technology over the years and I have created several Windows and Web applications in C++/CLI and C#.
Unfortunately, I have not used a web camera before and cannot help you with your problem. However, web browsers usually cache images on your local computer. If you right-click on your Internet Explorer Icon on the desktop and choose properties on the menu. Click on the "General" tab and click on the "Settings..." button. When the "Settings" windos appears, click on the "View Files..." button. You can sort the images my url.

Hello!
I have two listboxes, one is filled with data when page is loaded, and the other is empty. When user clicks a button I want the selected items from one of them to show up in the other. I'd love to have a non-postback solution of this, as all the postbacks required with my current solution doesn't feel very userfriendly. Here's the code how it looks today:
private void btnOppenVard_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
ArrayList alTotal = new ArrayList();<br />
ArrayList alOld = new ArrayList();<br />
ArrayList alNew = new ArrayList();<br />
<br />
foreach(ListItem li in lblValdOppenVard.Items)<br />
{<br />
alOld.Add(li.Value.ToString());<br />
}<br />
<br />
alTotal.AddRange(alOld);<br />
<br />
foreach(ListItem li in lbOppenVard.Items)<br />
{<br />
if(li.Selected == true)<br />
{<br />
alNew.Add(li.Value.ToString());<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
foreach (System.Object obj in alNew)<br />
{<br />
if(alTotal.Contains(obj.ToString()))<br />
{<br />
alTotal.Remove(obj);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
alTotal.AddRange(alNew);<br />
<br />
lblValdOppenVard.DataSource = alTotal;<br />
lblValdOppenVard.DataBind();<br />
}
Is this possible to achieve with javascript? And could someone point me in the right direction as to how I should go about doing this?

The listbox renders as a "select" element on the client-side. Look on a search web site such as www.google.com or Code Project using "DHTML" and "SELECT" as key words.

try this
function MoveOption(objSourceElement, objTargetElement) { var aryTempSourceOptions = new Array(); var x = 0; //looping through source element to find selected options for (var i = 0; i < objSourceElement.length; i++) { if (objSourceElement.options[i].selected) { //need to move this option to target element var intTargetLen = objTargetElement.length++; objTargetElement.options[intTargetLen].text = objSourceElement.options[i].text; objTargetElement.options[intTargetLen].value = objSourceElement.options[i].value; } else { //storing options that stay to recreate select element var objTempValues = new Object(); objTempValues.text = objSourceElement.options[i].text; objTempValues.value = objSourceElement.options[i].value; aryTempSourceOptions[x] = objTempValues; x++; } } //resetting length of source objSourceElement.length = aryTempSourceOptions.length; //looping through temp array to recreate source select element for (var i = 0; i < aryTempSourceOptions.length; i++) { objSourceElement.options[i].text = aryTempSourceOptions[i].text; objSourceElement.options[i].value = aryTempSourceOptions[i].value; objSourceElement.options[i].selected = false; }

take a hidden fields to store data and their corresponding id,s
try this
Add this function to attributes of your button as
this.btnSubmit.Attributes.Add("onclick","javascript return showSelected();");
targetlistId is id of target list
'hiddennames' is input type hidden for names
'hiddenId' is input type hidden for id's
function showSelected()
{
var optionList = document.getElementById("targetlistId").options;
var data = '';
var names = '';
var len = optionList.length;
for(i=0; i{
if(i>0)
{
data += ',';
names += ',';
}
data += optionList.item(i).value;
names += optionList.item(i).text;

Thanks for the responseI tried this solution, but didnt get any data to register in the the hidden field. I tried
adding attribute:
this.btnOppenVardVald.Attributes.Add("onclick","javascript: return showSelected();");
adding hidden field:
<input id="HiddenValue" type="hidden" value="Initial Value" runat="server" NAME="HiddenValue">
also tried:
<input id="HiddenValue" type="hidden" value="Initial Value" NAME="HiddenValue">
the function:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"><br />
function showSelected()<br />
{<br />
var optionList = document.getElementById("lblValdOppenVard").options;<br />
var data = '';<br />
var names = '';<br />
var len = optionList.length;<br />
for (var i = 0; i < optionList.length; i++)<br />
{<br />
if(i>0)<br />
{<br />
data += ',';<br />
names += ',';<br />
}<br />
data += optionList.item(i).value;<br />
names += optionList.item(i).text;<br />
}<br />
document.getElementById('HiddenValue').value=names;<br />
return true;<br />
} <br />
</script>
but value of HiddenValue is still "Initial Value" after I press btnOppenVardVald. Should "HiddenValue" have runat="server" or not? And what else am I doing wrong?

no run at server for listbox
<asp:listbox id="lstCategories2" cssclass="SearchCategory" runat="server"
="" enableviewstate="True">
|
|
|
|
|
if I remove the runat server for the listbox, its not rendered at all.
asp:listbox id="lblValdOppenVard" runat="server" CssClass="inmatningstext" SelectionMode="Multiple"
Do I have to create some sort of html control instead of an asp:listbox? Im sorry if the answer is obvious, im kind of new to this.

my mistake dont remove runat server

and get value of hidden as
string ids=hiddenLinkTypeId.Value;

As this is client side code, the runat="server" attribute is totally irrelevant.
This is the way you add the attribute:
this.btnOppenVardVald.Attributes.Add("onclick","return showSelected();");

b { font-weight: normal; }

Hi,
I have Windows XP Professional edition on my PC.
Initially only Visual studio 6.0 was installed on my PC. It was working fine.
Then I installed Visual Studio .NET 2003. At this time IIS was not installed.
After few days I did uninstallation of Visual Studio .NET. But .NET Framework 1.1 was present even after unistallation of Visual Studio .NET. I left it as it is.
Then I did intsalltion of IIS 5.1
I started working on ASP.
Again I installed Visual Studio .NET. This time IIS was already installed.
Now,
1) When I choose Web application Template in VB.net or C# .net I do get
error stating : "Web server could not launch ASP.NET 1.1"
2) When I am working on pure ASP development, the ASP object model does not figure out Server object's "Transfer" and "Execute" methods.(i.e. Server.Execute and Server.Transfer which are used to redirect a request.). I am using Microsoft Internet Development Environment, which is part of Visual Studio 6.0. is it because the ASP version is old somewhat 2.0? How to check
which ASP version is running?
So what could be the problems, and how should I go about it to fix the same.
Regards,
Amol

As per ur mail<br />
URL : http:
From: Amol Ravatale <amolravatale@yahoo.co.in><br />
<br />
The solution you provided work out well for my office PC.<br />
The same thing is happening with the PC at my home. So running aspnet_iisreg -i command gives responce as 'aspnet_iisreg' is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file.<br />
<br />
So how should I go about it?
just go to VS command promt and run aspnet_regiis -i
This will configure ur IIS with .net frame wotk
not aspnet_iisreg
Got it
Happy Coding
