I need to create a window like mIRC's status window, in which can display text (with fonts and colors) as well as when you select the text, it automaticly copies it to the clipboard but does not stay selected.
I need to do this in win forms. I would also like to extend it to display images... i know his is a custom drawn window... how could i do this same thing in winforms? any ideas?

One way that you could do this is to set up the status window as a panel and create your own Paint events. You would then use the graphics object for the control to do the drawing you need done. Changing font characteristics and doing g.DrawString will handle the multi-colored text. g.DrawImage would handle graphics at some point. The last piece would be more difficult with a panel, but there is probably a windows API you could hook into for that.

Yeah, I had that idea and its kind of what i've been doing in a way. But i really cant find any ideas on how to copy drawn text, except for going through all the trouble of cursur position and position of the string displayed on the panel, and creating some sort of my own draw code to look like its selecting text, and copied (and actually copy it)... etc.
But thats just way too hard =P

Hello
I have a usercontrol with a number of childcontrols. One of these control's got a 'EnabledSpecial' property. I would like for this to be set instead of the controls 'Enabled' property when the usercontrols 'Enabled' property is changed.
How do I go about achieving this?
/regards Magnus
EDIT: Fixed, used OnEnableChange on usercontrol and looped through all childcontrols.

Hello,
I am new to this site and new to programming. I am stuck. My assignment states the following: We need to write a program that will read in a string of any length and then display the reverse of the original string, the original string in all Caps and in all Lowercase letters. When reversing the string, the letters should be reversed with the appropriate capitalization applied to all letters.
Sample output in bold.
What string would you like to convert? John Smith
Reversed String: htimS nhoJ
All Uppercase: JOHN SMITH
All Lowercase: john smith
I figured out Uppercase and Lowercase but not reverse or even how to tie it in to the rest. We are using the console applications in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

You are lucky that I had this code lying on my computer becouse I usually don't do other people's homework;)
class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{
Console.WriteLine("Input a string:");
string inputString = Console.ReadLine();
Console.WriteLine("All lowercase: " + inputString.ToLower());
Console.WriteLine("All uppercase: " + inputString.ToUpper());
Console.Write("Reveresed string: ");
for (int i = inputString.Length - 1; i >= 0; i--)
Console.Write(inputString[i].ToString());
Console.ReadLine();
}
}

Thank You guys for the help. I think I was trying to make it more complicated than it really was. Our Instructor likes to give us the assignment before we go over the chapters or examples that explian the solution. Thank You.

Hello!
I have one solution file that consist of three project.
One project that build the exe file.
One project that build a class library dll
One project that build a windows control dll
In the windows control c-tor is there a call to a method in the class
libarary.
So in the project referense settings for the windows control I have a
project referens to the class library.
In the exe file c-tor I have a call to a method in the class library.
So in the project reference settings for the exe file I have a project
reference to the class library and to
the windows control because I can drag the windows control from the toolbox
to a form in the project that build the exe file.
Now to my problem if I now rebuild the project only for the class library
and then try to drag the windows control to a form I get the following error
"An exception occured while trying to create an instance of Middle.Middle.
The execption was "?"."
But if I rebuild the windows control instead then I can drag the windows
control from the toolbox to a form in the project that build the exe file.
My first question why do I get this error.
My second question is what is the recommended setting for copy local that
exist on each project. It it to have true or false.
My third question is what requirement is it about the version that each dll
have. I mean when an exe file will call a dll or when a dll will call
another dll.

Hello,
I need an object which is inherited from a control.to simulate some things. The problem is that the object makes the last initializations during the OnPaint event. But in my case I don't want to display the object on the screen, because I need it only as helper object.
Is there an way to do that?
Regards
Hansjörg

Visible = false;
or
Height = 0;
Width = 0;
or
dont add the control to the Controls collection

you 100% sure that every control in "this.Parent.Controls" is of type "OurRadioButton"?
I doubt it is!
Also, please try to use descriptive subject lines in posts, as it helps find posts you are able to answer.

How can i define a rectangle area of an image where i want to delete all the pixel just as a rubber does in Photoshop?
|
|
|
|
|
You just draw a rectangle over the top of the image with the background colour! There's no magic "Eraser" tool in GDI like there is in, say, photoshop.
