hi friends,
In windows we have a Authentication dialog box at login level to type password and username. I have some hardware to scan and validate the user's finger prints .Is there any way to override this windows Authentication mechanism and use mine?
Does windows support any API's ?

You'll have to write a GINA DLL[^].

you have to rewrite Gina.dll for that, search google for same

Hello Guys,
I have list control on a dialog box. When i click a header(column name) of the list control it should be sorted(ascending or descending) autimatically. Is there any property to set this or i need to write this sorting logic itself ? Please reply soon if you guys know this it's urgent. Thanks!

I think you should overwrite the HDN_ITEMCLICK default routine from CListCtrl; that will give you the header item selected in LPNMHEADER phdr = reinterpret_cast<LPNMHEADER>(pNMHDR); m_nSortHeaderItem = phdr->iItem; After that you do the 'sort' thing and display the new list. This is how I did it! Good luck and keep the good coding!

The List Control doesn't have any styles for doing this automatically, but you can handle the HDN_ITEMCLICK notifications and use SortItems() on the list control.

Depends of what the code is. Is it simply source files ? If yes, you can simply add them to your project.

I suppose you are speaking about a splitter window ? Take a look at the MSDN[^] for more details (or search on this website, I think there are some splitter controls here also).

how to integrate two solutions in one project......
with mutual dependency

i think you mean two projects in one solution...

Unless the two projects are statically linked libraries (.lib), mutual dependency is a bad thing. Avoid it at all costs.

I already looked all over for very simple editor that only to be run in ms-dos box.
it should use FILe* studio for opening and saving text files.
I just need sample or example.

I don't understand what you are looking for . You want a text editor ok, but what has MFC to do with that ? Take for example notepad, it is a very (very) basic text editor, so what is the problem with this one ?

Uuuuhhh ??? What do you mean.
Or maybe you want to have the sources code of a text editor ?

Hi,
In my application I need to draw a predefined bitmap into a rounded
area , but the CDC::BitBlt(...) allows me to draw the bitmap into
a rectangular area only.
Is there an API to draw a rounded bitmap?
If not - should i use the CDC::SetPixel() and CBitmap::GetPixel() instead?(I need to refreash the screen every 70msec...)
With best regards,
Eli

In theory, that's simpler to do it with CRgn class member methods. Good luck and keep the good coding!

First , thanks for the (very) quick reply .
I thought about the CRgn option, but i couldn't find a function to draw to the created region....

Eli

You would use the region as a "cookie cutter" to trim the bitmap (which is square).

Hi Steve,
I know how to create that region , but how can I draw the bitmap into that region?

Thanks , it's working

MaskBlt() was created for exactly this purpose. Specify DSTCOPY as the background ROP and you'll be right.
Alternatively, you could create a region and select it into the destination device context as the clipping region (SelectClipRegion ) and just use a normal BitBlt() of the full area.
