I want a combo box which can be used to display a list of client names, but once selected, I want that particular client AccountNumber to be recorded in my MS Access MDB file in an InvoiceAccountNumber field.
How do I do it so that the combo always displays the full CompanyName, but always saves the InvoiceAccountNumber?
The reason for this is that the combo box gets its items from the same table that I'm writing back to so that if a client chooses to have their invoices sent to an alternative location, provided that the alternative location is recorded in my table, and that the entry has an AccountNumber, it is this AccountNumber which I want to record against my client InvoiceAccountNumber.

Is there someway to convert an Icon to an Image (in memory, i don't mean by saving it to a file)
i've managed to do it using Image.FromHbitmap and Icon.ToBitmap.GetHbitmap but that seems to cause it to lose transparency...

I'm sorry, this isn't what i was looking for... this converts images to icons... i'm trying to convert an icon to an image.... however it did solve a problem i was having with fixed length strings... so your effort was not completely in vain... thanks

I am working on a program for tic tac toe. The program is using text boxes with click event so when the box is clicked it will populate with a X or O unless it is already populated. I have everything working except my subrotine which is called from the checkfor win to check for a tie. Here is the code I am trying to use to check for a tie. Can someone please help me with why this causes the program to crash and also how to fix this code.
Sub checkfortie()
If txtPosition1.Text <> "" And txtPosition2.Text <> "" & txtPosition3.Text <> "" And _
txtPosition4.Text <> "" And txtPosition5.Text <> "" And txtPosition6.Text <> "" _
And txtPosition7.Text <> "" And txtPosition8.Text <> "" And txtPosition9.Text <> "" Then
Catwins += 1
End If
End Sub
|
|
|
|
|
If txtPosition1.Text <> "" And txtPosition2.Text <> "" & txtPosition3.Text <> "" And _
The problem is with one of your and s. You mistakenly used an &, which tries to do a bitwise and instead of a logical and . (Mixing up your C/C#/C++ with your VB?)
This type of thing is hard to catch. Your brain sees what it wants to see.
Roy.
