Don't use DoModal instead use Create . And return TRUE from InitInstance . Create the property sheet as you would create a Frame Window.

I have created a Dialog based application in Visual C++ 6.0 ( Windows 2000 ,resolution 1024*768).
But while displaying the application in Windows 2003 , the application window
appears wider than the screen. Also the controls are misplaced from their
original positions.
How can this be solved ?

Probably because the screen resolution is different. You have to check first for the screen resolution and then replace your controls by code. You can also make a search on this website, there are some usefull articles on resizable dialogs.

How can i get the screen resolution through code?
Can you please send any sample code ?
thanks in advance.

Use GetSystemMetrics[^] for that purpose.
Usage:
int cx = GetSystemMetrics(SM_CXSCREEN);
int cy = GetSystemMetrics(SM_CYSCREEN);

Hi ,
When we resize the taskbar, how to adjust the dialog window according to
that ?
thanks in advance.

|

One solution is to make the dialog template the size of the smallest screen you need to support. This is done at design time.
Another solution is to change the size of the application's window at run-time.

Hi,
Again im coming back with the manual refreshing of an item in an owner-drawn listbox.
InvalidateRect and Invalidate function didn't help me
the output I need is. when Im selecting an item, I need to draw an extra bitmap inside the previous item (or some other item). but on selecting, the other item I need to redraw is not refreshing
when I move just move the entire application window... yes its working. so think it is the problem with painting. could u pls suggest a solution?

actually the item im going to be drawn wont get selected anymore.
actually its like a tree control.
I have a parent item ( will have a big size font ) and child items drawn normally.
inside the listbox I have many parent-childs (seems like a tree)
when I click on the child Item I need to draw an image inside the Parent Item that is my requirement.
but im not getting and drawing signals.
can we send ODA_DRAWENTIRE command to list box?

That is why ODA_SELECT was mentioned in my previous post.
It means Owner Draw Action is Selection.
This means the current action during the drawing time is related to Selection or De-Selection. To check for selection use the ODS_SELECTED flag which gives the state of the item. Look up DRAWITEMSTRUCT in MSDN for more info.

i would like to know how the color palette of an image is represented in c# language is it in the form of a byte for each color and each byte containing 8 bits? or am i wrong?

Yes: this is the C++ forum, not the C# forum.

And also, there are different formats (I don't know for palette under C#). For example you can have 24 bits bitmaps (RGB each coded on 8 bits) or 16 bits bitmap (R and B on 5 bits and G on 6 bits), ...

Are you sure that style can be changed at run-time? Some can, other can't.
