In the following code, I am trying to switch between monitor and printer as the default output device. (The code is executed in a server and the client is a dumb terminal. Hence the server instructs the client to print by switching the output device) I have some binary data(unsigned char) which I can dump into the printer buffer and it will print some meaningful text. If I write this data to a file, then read it and print it (The following code) it works. I dont want to use a file. I want to print it from that buffer in which I have the binary value. I the data is automatically converted to unsigned int or something when its written into file. How do I achieve this?
<br />
int main(int argc, char *argv[])<br />
{<br />
int ch;<br />
FILE *fp;<br />
<br />
fp=fopen(argv[1], "r");
<br />
ansi_printer_on();
<br />
while ((ch=getc(fp))!=EOF)<br />
{<br />
putc(ch,stdout);<br />
}<br />
fclose(fp);<br />
<br />
ansi_printer_off();
<br />
return 0;<br />
}<br />

Try Canon's new copier series. They can scan to TIFF images.

sorry! what i mean is to realize this by myself with c++ code

Print them to a PostScript-File, then use a PS-To-Tiff-Converter.
Or did you really expect me to answer with 50000 lines of conversion code for DOC-files?

can u tell m , how can realize this with less c++ code, using more third-party code. thanks very much

What do you mean? You want to change the background color?
Override OnEraseBkgnd(...) and return TRUE . This should do it.

Hai
I am using serial port application.Is it possible for me to find the status of (high or low voltage etc)different pins (Tx) in a serial port.
Please give me a solution.

Take a look at GetCommModemStatus[^] function.
BTW, why do you want to retrieve the status of these lines ? Is there any particular reason for that ?
You know that you can automatically have hardware handshaking supported (so that you don't need to manage that yourself) ?

Hai Cedric
Actually My problem is that,I am creating a programmer for implementing SPI Protocol using any three pins of serial port,I want to set as well as clear that pins( especially Txd pin).
Please help me...

I don't think this is a good solution to implement SPI protocol over the serial port. You'll need to have very strict timings and as windows is not a real-time operating system, you'll never be able to achieve those timings.

Hi all!
I am trying to run an EXE file, by calling CreateProcess() API and filled up the all requirements as below:
BOOL retvalue = CreateProcess(ExePath ,Params, NULL, NULL, FALSE, 0, NULL, tempStr, &StartupInfo, &ProcessInfo);
And getting exitcode of process as below:
GetExitCodeProcess(hProcess,&ExitCode);
It return 128 or sometimes 259.
And my EXE doesn't run.
On seraching in google i found some answers and set desktop heap in widows registry to 512. but all answers didn't help me.
Can anyone sort out the problem.
regards,
Zia

try this
<br />
PROCESS_INFORMATION ProcessInfo;<br />
STARTUPINFO StartupInfo;<br />
<br />
ZeroMemory(&StartupInfo, sizeof(STARTUPINFO));<br />
<br />
StartupInfo.cb = sizeof(STARTUPINFO);<br />
StartupInfo.dwFlags = STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW;<br />
StartupInfo.wShowWindow = SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED;<br />
<br />
CreateProcess(NULL, <br />
"Notepad.exe", <br />
NULL, <br />
NULL, <br />
FALSE,<br />
DETACHED_PROCESS,<br />
NULL,<br />
NULL,<br />
&StartupInfo,<br />
&ProcessInfo);<br />

In a network , if I give a system name , how to get the IP address of that system. Is there any MFC class to find that?

Look here[^]
In the example given you will see a line like
hstEnt = gethostbyname(szHostName);
Change szHostName to the name of the network machine.
You can modify the function allowing it to take the name of the machine as input.

Hi,
we just want to know the source code for a calculator that works with postfix.
For example
(3+4)*4/2
the postfix form of the expression above is: 34+4*2/
Then give us automatically with parsing the result
Thank a lot for your help

What a great article !!! wow
seriously, VisualCalc doesn't calculate with such "postfix" notions. it gets plain text expression and evaluates the result depending on operators priorities, which doesn't happen in the notation requiered here
