Try to re-register the last msxml library that is in your system.
This libraries are in the C:\windows\sytem32 folder. I'm not sure this is your problem because unregistered dlls cause more collateral damages but you can try.
Execute from command line this, REGSVR32 "C:\windows\system32\MSXML4.DLL" , the number could be different, depends on the software you have installed.

I have downloaded a few games from reflexive.com
when i tried to run i got "Open File - Security Warning", and it says publisher can't be varified. And ask me if i wan't to contiune. There is nothing wrong with it, but... How can i change setting, that would automaticly run?

Try to go to internet option..., go to security tab and click on custom level... then try to study an option of download section.

Well another softice problem but this one is a little different
I have Compuware Driver Studio v3.2 that is said to work for xp. during configurations, settings asked to *test* my VGA compatibility and the test was successful with standard VGA display settings. but when I restarted and went to launch softice. It tottally freezes my computer.. Softice is still working though i can do the ctrl+D and everything to get the softice screen but when i do ctrl+D to leave the system is still stalled/frozen; so I am forced to do the HBOOT and hard reset to leave it all to gether, because what good is a debugger when no other program is able to run. i don't know what i could be, that’s why I’m assuming its just too cold for my computer! lol

Try to check whether this software compatible with your operating system and your hardware or not. On the other, if the product has it own KB document, you should find the solution from your problem.

I maid sure that softice is compatible with my os and pluss it said that even microsoft gives out hotfixes that update a files for softice called called osinfo.dat (released operating systems) or osinfob.dat (beta operating systems) and so far i've found no recent hot fixes so i have to suggest that i've got the most recent because its the most recent compuserve package! And plus why would my NVidia not be compatible with *Standard VGA* lol, anyway i've have'nt gotten written back from technical support and i really think they don't know whats going on. i don't think theirs anything else i could tell you.. but thanks for the help so far.

Ok, in my opinion, you should contact directly (phone or e-mail) to this company and give a feed back about this issue. I think it is a good reason to give them a feed about their product performance and it might help the other user to solve this problem if the could found the solution based on your problem.

Because of compuware's lack to respond to all my letters, I took it upon my self to go and do extansive research on my problem, i found out the the problem was that the exeptions that SoftIce hold for the PS/2 is unstable in the way XP drivers cordinate with softice. For someresson that causes the keyboard to stall and the whole operating system to stall too. Windows form of a kernal PANIC! I now know the problem.. May someone please help with my solution?

I'm writing an app that does some processing in outlook, and my boss keeps reminding me that he has a "small" outlook PST file - even though it's over 3GB in size.
In my book, anything measured in gigabytes isn't small.
I was wondering, in a "real" corporate environment, how big do system admins typically let their users data files get?

Office 2002 or earlier = 2GB, Office 2003 = 20GB[^].

Using Disk quotas[^] to set and define available space for each user.

The largest I have seen was just over 15GB. I would recomend that they be kept under 2 GB. If something happens most of the tools used to recover .pst start to choke after 2 GB and fail arround 4.
If you Boss has a 3GB file sugest to him that he think of breaking it up to smaller files. Also all .pst should be kept in the same location (again for data recovery it makes it easier, since you do not have to search the entire drive).
Outlook 97 would handel 36 .pst files, newer versions can keep track of more, Outlook 2003 can keep track of over 90 (Sorry I do not have the actual limit for the number of .pst files it will keep but have a manager who has 90 in his working enviroment.).
As far as when they are stored on a server - this depends upon position, job function, and available space. On the mail server, space constraints for that server dictate how much mail they can keep on line, I give everyone the same size mail box (usually no more than 5 times the allowed attachment size.).

The maximum size of an Outlook .pst file pree 2003 is 2 GB (There are ways to allow this to grow, but recovery if/when it becomes corrupt will be a problem.).
The default maximum size of an Outlook 2003 Unicode .pst or .ost file is 20 GB. (Note: The largest file Outlook 2003 will accept is 30GB, this is due to stack space limitations I am told.)
As always the above is only firm until the next code update, at which time it may change without notice.

Hi, I would like to get some explaination about CISSP security training course. Like Microsoft, I found MCP, MCSA, MCSE... and the other certificate which has a specific training course such as 70-270, 70-290... and a specific subject such as windows xp, windows 2003...
I have check Amazon.com[^] website and found a lot of title relate to CISSP Exam preparation[^]. But I rarely found about CISSP lesson book. Like Microsoft MCP 70-270 they have a windows xp lesson book then a readiness book use to prepare an exam. But for CISSP security, i just found a preparation for exam book but i could not found the lesson. And on the other hand, could any one tell what is the benefit of study CISSP security? Can I just purchase the book and learn at home without any training course at the center?

Long Answer - The interaction helps with the understanding of the subject matter. Hower once you master the 7 relms, you should be able to pass the test.

Hi, I found my friend which study cisco networking. She told me that study cisco is a little bit challenges to her because lack of device to practice (router, firewall...) because those device is very expensive to purchase and learn from it. But she still have an ability to learn because she has a simulator software. Example: when she need to configure router, there is a software simulator that demonstrate to her and she can view this simulator on the screen as a router console which enable her to learn.
For me, I study Microsoft and also found a simulator on the CD such as installing windows xp... but now I got a challenge when i start to study on server subject. There are many challengse such as configure RAID (mirror, strip set...) system while i have only one hard disk. And there are many challenges relate to lack of hardware resource.
From here, does anyone know any company that provide a simulator software for me to learn windows without need an actual hardware?

Hi, I have a problem with my mouse. When I click on the left button for the single click, the system is trigger as double click. I have check the mouse property in control panel whether I set the double click speed is to low. But everything is normal. This mouse I used around three year. I heard my friend told me that this mouse could not be fix, it is reach it life cycle. So I need change to the new mouse. It is no problem for me to change the new mouse but I just want to know the reason why my old mouse become unusable. I try to connect this mouse to the other system and it also has this problem too. Any idea?

Try cleaning the contacts both inside the mouse (if you can get in there) and on the connector/jack. 90% of hardware problems that aren't power related are caused by things like that. Use a Q-tip and pencil eraser.
Mice contain both physical hardware and electronics. Most likely, the physical hardware failed.
The microswitch that activates the button will wear out over time (most switches have lifetimes rated to the order of 10k activations). It's not uncommon for a switch near or at the end of its lifetime to bounce outside the hysteresis of the sensor circuitry, which could cause spurious double clicks in some cases. It may or may not begin not working at all if you continue to use it.
Downstream of the switch is a pile of electronics. I wouldn't be surprised if the hysteresis circuit on the switch sensor has a few discrete components, which can wear out over time. Further on, there's an encoder and the PS/2 or USB chipset, both of which could fail. The further downstream you go however, the smaller the chance that things fail.
Either way, there is no possible way that fixing the mouse could cost less than a whole new generic mouse. I fixed a mouse once, and it cost me $25. The last Microsoft Intellimouse (the only one I like, with the ball) I bought cost me $9.
