u r code is correct. but the problem is after selection of checkboxes and clicking on any button, it is getting postback. In this postback ur code is showing that checkboxes are not checked.
make sure that page_load event code in kept in if(!IsPostBack)

To succeed - you must start with good planning. Efforts should be focussed on reducing and simplifying the AJAX calls, and creating a standard format for responses that follows convention (ideally XML) where possible.
Follow best practice from sites such as the Open Web Application Security Project. This especially includes checking for Access Control and Input Validation flaws, whilst ensuring sensitive information travels over SSL rather than in the clear.
Never assume that Server Side AJAX checks for Access Control or User Input Validation will replace the need for final re-checking at the Server. Adding AJAX controls will never reduce your validation workload, they will only increase it.
Never assume that Client Side obfuscation (making the JavaScript difficult to read or decode) will protect your most important commercial secrets. Using JavaScript is a poor way to hide programming tricks and advances from your competitors.
Finally, you must be prepared to exercise a tight reign over your development team. Wonderful ideas using AJAX may sound compelling, but you should consider saving them for version 2, whilst you focus on building a rock-solid version 1.

Hi,
I want to generate a menu from my Web.sitemap control which lies in my root folder. But the thing is, I do not want everything that is in this file in the menu. Like this file contains the breadcrumbs for my admin section, which I only want displayed in my admin section.
Is it possible to have a separate web.sitemap in the admin folder? If yes, how do I tell the admin section to make use of that control, and not the one in the default root folder?
Thanks

The easiest thing you can do is generate two GUIDS.
string randomText = GUID.NewGuid.ToString();
You can return not the full GUID, because it's quite long but certain parts of it. Let's say the first eight characters or so.

I have read so many articles talking about using RegisterClientScriptResource for loading a Js files into a page. However, i can't find "Build Action" on my properties panel for my js files. After a while, some said .... the "Build Action" property for a file is avaiable only creating a server control not the web project ??? is that true ??
If yes, then how can i inject a js file into the web page ?

Why not just add a ?

The Build Action item is not available in the ASP.NET web site project. You can either use the Web Project 2005 to embed the js file or use the resource file.

Well you won't be able to "install" the game on a PDA - you'll need a webserver that copes with ASP.NET.....you may be able to get something that you can connect the PDA to over t'internet, but that's not really programming the PDA - that's just a different client device...
Have you looked into Java? Most PDA / Phone stuff is done using it (AFAIK)....

Hi,
In ASP.NET im creating the word document. While document is creating some temp file is creating. So at that time i can't able to down load the file from server machine to client machine.
Eg.
Word File Name : "Endoscopy_2_49_5.doc"
Temp File Name : "~$doscopy_2_49_5.doc"
Error Occurs:
------------------
The process cannot access the file "<path>" because it is being used by another process.
Here im creating the Word Document in the Server Machine. After that from Client Machine im down load the file and do some correction and updating to server. How to over come this one.
Thanks in advance,
Senthil V.

Can anyone help I want to use cookies in asp.net page login,
please can me an example
Thanks

This code checks whether the browserr accepts cookies and either adds a cookie if it is the user' s first visit to the page or updates the cookie if the user has visited the page before.
// (1) Check if browser accepts cookies.
if (Request.Browser.Cookies)
{
// (2) If the cookie does not exist...
if (Request.Cookies["LastVisit"] == null)
{
// (3) Create cookie.
HttpCookie cookLastVisit = new HttpCookie("LastVisit",
DateTime.Now.ToString());
// (4) Set the expiration to tommorrow.
cookLastVisit.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(1);
// (5) Add to cookies collection.
Response.Cookies.Add(cookLastVisit);
// Display message.
Response.Write("This is your first visit.");
}
else
{
// Get the cookie.
HttpCookie cookLastVisit = Request.Cookies["LastVisit1"];
// Display a message showing time of last visit.
Response.Write("You last visited this page: " +
cookLastVisit.Value);
// Update the cookie on the client.
Response.Cookies["LastVisit"].Value =
DateTime.Now.ToString();
Response.Cookies["LastVisit"].Expires =
DateTime.Now.AddDays(1);
}
}
else
{
Response.Write("Your browser does not accept cookies.");
}

Praveen_S wrote: // (1) Check if browser accepts cookies.
if (Request.Browser.Cookies)
Actually that doesn't check if the browser accepts cookies, it only checks if the browser is capable of accepting cookies. The browser may still deny the cookie.
The only way to check if a browser really accepts cookies, is to attempt to set a cookie, and in the next page check if the cookie was accepted.

What criteria are you checking against? Would you be able to create a dataview from your dataset table and then perform a filter?
This would be a much simpler solution.
