Hi,
I'm not sure what language you are using, but in C# I would do it like this:
string strCountryID = Request.Querystring["CountryID"];
cboCountry.Items.FindByValue(strCountryID).Selected = true;
I hope this helps. If I am wrong please let me know then I will go and investigate.

Brendan

Hi guys,
I'm kinda new to asp.net so I hope to learn something here. I'm now working on a web based video streaming system for a larger e-learning system. My systems goes like this. User A (Teacher) will login into my server through a web site and begin using his/her web cam and upload video files to my server. User B (student)will then login into my server and begin streaming the video from the server to his/her web browser. I've got a solution to the User Bs side, where I'll be embedding the Windows Media Player ActiveX control to stream live media from my server. My question here is, how do i capture video frames from User A and send them to the server?
Thanks a lot

You can't do that in Javascript by default. You can use div layers instead but in this case you no longer using the msg box object.

Do you mean in a "MessageBox" similar to the alert() fn? If so, take a look at the confirm() function...

I have a datagrid with a delete function... my problem is that the table in the database have three keys... how do I set the datakey value in this regard to be able to delete?
Thanks alot,
commickey
|
|
|
|
|
1. Bind all three keys to the datagrid.
2. In ItemCommand event of datagrid , check for delete command
eg.. switch(e.CommandName)
{
case "Delete":
break;
}
3. In the case "Delete" Find the controls and fetch values from the three key columns if you use a Template column for them in datagrid.
eg. TextBox txt = new TextBox();
txt = (TextBox)e.Item.FindControl("txtKey1");
OR
IF these three key columns are BoundColumn in datagrid then get values using following
eg. e.Item.Cells[3]
4. Once you get all three key values you can delete this record by developing a sql query which will use these values to delete the record.

From my experience in web development most developers keep the query string variables unsecured which will lead into lots of security risks.
I have created three functions that will cover the above issue and make sure all your query string variables are secured.Get Source Code

Thanks for posting that link as its somthing im currently working on.
I also found this article
on the subject very helpful and it also contains VB code to do the same kind of thing (though I am working in C#).
One problem I have at the moment, along these very lines, that I was hoping to get help on is:
I have a menu dymanicly generated from an XML file, formatted with an XSL then displayed as an inline list using the ASP.NET XML tool and CSS.
I want to be able to call my <%EncryptQueryString()%> from within the XSL for-each loop, that is used to populate the HTML list. So that the querystrings in my menu http links cant be seen with a mouseover or viewing the source or in the url bar....
Becuase the menu is generated dynamicly the encryptquerystring and its parameters need to be called and set dynamicly also ... within the XSL for-each loop seemed the neatest way of doing this though i am stuggling to find any resources on getting <%%> tagged script to work under XSL.
So many thanks in advance if anyone can help me on this

Hey,
Regarding your problem i think it can besolved by assigning the xml source of your control at runtime, so in the code behinde you generate the XML source with all the querystring encrypted and whatever, then you can assign this XML document to the XML /XSL .NET control and you will be ready to Go.
Please let me know if this makes sense to you.
