Well, I don't really start that many threads. Not sure how I compare with the others. I think it will be a good demographic addition for Chris M. Though I'll probably have to help him with the nested SQL. He is not very good at nested SQL and often I have to help him out.

Is there a possibility for these forums be also discussion groups? So we can subscribe to some forums and get the messages by email and also reply to messages, just like Yahoo! groups?
Or is this feature already availabale and I cannot turn it on?
Thanks
Best regards,

It has been suggested before, but it would increase the server loads and bandwith usage to a point where CodeProject would probably collaspse under the weight.

I thought that under the General menu on the left there could be a section for Console Programming. I know that it's not the main focus of this site but I myself still write a lot of console based programs... just faster to develop for certain problems [Please forgive my spelling... I was out way too late last nite!!! ]

I'd go for that. Console apps are still widely used today. Like, VC++'s compiler is a console app.

I guess if enough console app code gets sent then Chris will create a section.

I need articles before I can create a section, and if I create a separate section, will this make it harder for readers to find articles. If we have a console program that provides image translation functions, for instance, should it go in the console programming section or the Multimedia section?

OK....this is wierd, my status went from Silver to Bronze. It has been at Silver for almost a month now. What did I say that made me go down a rung on the ladder?

This is indeed unusual. I never seen that happen before.

We like to randomly strip people of levels to set an example to others.
Honestly though I'm not sure why the scripts awarded you silver, since your stats add up to Bronze. Chances are I fixed a bug sometime between now and the last time profiles where updated that's corrected the misleading rating.
and that's my story and I'm sticking to it

As I understand it, membership updates are a periodic process, not automatic. Your status will be elevated eventually.

Chris has to manually run some kind of status updater to accomplish member status promotions. It's not an automated process.

Each 500 posts and each year of membership gives you a new level, BUT you get a headstart to bronze (effectively you need to hit 1000 posts to get the next level, or submit an article).

Chris,
I'm not sure that this article exists already, as it may and I have not yet seen it but this is my idea. It would be interesting to read an article about the inception of the code project web site. What it took to get it up and going, why you felt the need for this site, and where you see it going. If this article already exists please point me to it, I am interested would like to read it.
