Hi guys,
I was just wondering, is there anyway in ASP you can retrieve the complete file path of a script? For example if you had the script test.asp, what object method would you use to retreive the file path like C:/test/stuff/test.asp.
If anyone knows, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Robbie

Use Server.MapPath to the get physical path from a virtual path.

I guess you can easily check the real type of it when you debug your application.

Hi!
I'm calling on a webservice with WS-E 2.0 (because I need to use Dime), and the server returns this exception message:
Microsoft.Web.Services2.Security.SecurityFault: An error was discovered processing the <Security> header ---> System.Exception: Creation time in the timestamp can not be in the future.
I've allready checked that the clock on both machines are in sync (also the same timezone). I've also tried different combinations of setting the <timeToleranceInSeconds> and the <defaultTtlInSeconds> settings in both the clients app.config file and the servers web.config file.
still gets me the same exception...
Does anyone here have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Found it... While trying to fix this problem, I had inadvertenly cleared the Security collection of the SoapRequestHeader, so that the other two fixes didn't seem to work... Well, they did work, after removing that statement.

There are two different rounding methods:
:: Rounding away from zero
:: Rounding to nearest even
The method you are using has been implemented to use the later one.
The Math.Round method has overloads that let you decide the rounding method.

you can use global veriable in global.asax
i think this will help u

What do you mean by child page? is that a class derived from the original page?
If you're talking about 2 different ASPX pages, I think there is no way to retrieve values of a page from another page. I believe that as soon as you switch from one page to another, the previous page is discarded with everything in it, so I suppose there is no way to get back values from controls in it. You might be able to do so however if you're running a web user control and you want to retrieve the values of the parent page (containing the control). One thing for sure is that you can access programmatically any user control from the parent page and change the values of the controls in it, now whether you can go the other way around is something worth investigating.
Sorry, some theories, no solutions

whatever u told is ok. but it is possible by storing textbox's value in session or using 'shared veriable' in Global.asax
What do u think?

Hi,
A tester has installed the web application that I created in ASP.NET 2.0 onto his test machine. (This is done using the .msi)
When the tester encounters an eror on the website, then he gets the default page for the error. This I think should not happen as I have set the following in the web.config
<customerrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultredirect="CustomError.aspx">
I think he is supposed to be directed to the error page i.e. CustomError.aspx
Any thoughts please?
Thanks

In web.config you can set like this
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"/>

Hello there
I have written an image editor Application in ASP.net. I am doing some calculation at client side before posting using Java Script. I need to save my java script from any hacker as it Contains business logic. Is there any way to make javascript hidden...
Like I added the JavaScript File but when user saves the page from explorer then he can get the javascript file as well...
Support will be highly appreciated.

AFAIK, there's no way to prevent the user from downloading the script file, IMO what you might do is to make it hard to read/understand. Also, using javascript to contains business logic is a risk, and not a good practice. You should do it at the server side, and you can inscrease the responsiveness using AJAX to invoke the logic at the server side.
