Where would I go for finding client side JavaScript for a button to expand / collapse a block of html? (IE5 is guaranteed)?

I'm a big fan of scriptaculous[^].
And when we saw the computer, when we saw its code - and Turing saw it first - we were looking at complexity incarnate. And then suddenly we saw complexity everywhere. It materialized, it crystalized around us - even though it had always been there. We have yet to recover from the shock.

Their demos are too slow - I've done autocomplete, list sorting, etc, with much better perf. [Athough maybe it's just on my computer...]

Their code has more fancy smancy things than the bare bones necessary.
However, I find it to my liking, and it usually performs better on FF than IE for some reason

el.style.display = visible ? '' : 'none';
where el is the element, and visible is a boolean.

i have created the header,footer and sidemene in .asp
How do i ....add it to my other content page?
wat code do i need to type? is it type the coding on all my content page?
already been 1 week i havent link it to the content to my boss~~~~~ sigh~
You can do something like:
<body>
<!-- #include file="header.asp" -->
Page content here.
<!-- #include file="footer.asp" -->
</body>
how bout if i want to add to left hand side of the content? which i put for my menu botton.
The anti-table people will cringe...but you could do something like:
<body>
<!-- #include file="header.asp" -->
<table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
<tr>
<td>
<!-- #include file="sidemenu.asp" -->
</td>
<td>
Page content here.
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- #include file="footer.asp" -->
</body>

beside using table is there anyother way?? cause quick troublesome to add another table since i'm maitaining the old site which have more then 30 pages there....
Well...you're going to have to modify the 30+ pages to use your new header, footer, sidemenu scheme, but at least you can include and not have to cut and paste.
An alternative would be to use frames, but I've never ventured down that road, so maybe google it.

yes true, thanks for the code anyway
btw, i wonder y using frames is not good for business site? most of the commerce site they dont use frame.. any disadvantage about it?
