Hi,
I've two webforms. When a condition is satisfied, I need to pop up a webform as a modal dialog box where the user can enter some text.After submitting this child form, the user had to be redirected to some other webform. Inorder to catch the text,I've used a session variable.
What I've worked is......
In html page, I've written
function giveReason(w,h)
{
wleft = (screen.width-w) / 2;
wtop = (screen.height-h) / 2;
imgwindow1=window.open("HiReason.aspx","imgwindow1","width="+w+",height="+h+",left="+wleft+",top="+wtop+"status:Yes;");
imgwindow1.focus();
}
And I've called the above script function in codebehind page as...
jstr = " giveReason(500,170);"
Page.RegisterClientScriptBlock("reasonKey", jstr)
After that...
In child form,
Dim strjscript As String = ""
strjscript = ""
strjscript &= "window.opener.Home.Text1.focus();"
strjscript &= "window.close();"
strjscript = strjscript & "</script" & ">"
RegisterClientScriptBlock("close", strjscript)
Home is some other webbform's id.
While running this,I'm getting the error.... "imgwindow1 is null or not an object. poop up window is blocked"
Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance....

Instead use this
var winSettings = "dialogWidth:350px;dialogHeight:300px; help: no; status: no";
var qs = "../Calender/Calender.aspx";
var values = window.showModalDialog(qs,'cal',winSettings);
Where values will have all the return values from child form.
In Child Form:
var MyArgs = new Array();
MyArgs[0] = value1;
MyArgs[1] = value2;
window.returnValue = MyArgs;
window.close();
I hope this will help u.If not let me know.

Hi All,
I am creating dynamic stored procedure,means quuery condition is depending runtime supplied parameter values.
stored procedure is given below.
ALTER PROCEDURE GetSearchCriteria
@KeySkills nvarchar(50),
AS
Declare @Select nvarchar(2000)
declare @Where nvarchar(2000)
set @Where = ''
set @Select ='Select KeySkills from Jobseeker'
/*set @Select ='Select * from jobseeker'*/
if(@KeySkills is not NULL )
begin
set @Where = ' KeySkills = ' + @KeySkills end
set @Select = @Select + @Where
EXEC (@Select)
It gives error at statement in bold
Incorrect syntax near '='.

KeySkills expects nvarchar, so the code should be
set @Where = ' KeySkills = ''' + @KeySkills + ''''
The '' above are two single quotes.
However, after saying that, you should use sp_executesql instead which to execute your dynamic sql, which accepts the following parameter:
EXEC sp_executesql @sqlString, @paramlist, [@param1], [@param2], ...
@sqlString example is 'SELECT * FROM tblA WHERE KeySkills = @KeySkills'
@paramlist is a list of parameters your sqlString requires, e.g.
SET @paramlist = '@KeySkills nvarchar(50), @Param2 nvarchar(50)'
@param1 to @paramN are your parameter values, it has to correspond to the exact ordering in @paramlist (e.g. @KeySkills have to be passed as first parameter).
Hope that helps.

Hi Edbert,
As you suggest I made changes But Error is still coming on same line.
If possible please run this query at your end and correct it accordingly.
ALTER PROCEDURE GetSearchCriteria
@KeySkills nvarchar(50)
AS
Declare @Select nvarchar(2000)
declare @Where nvarchar(2000)
set @Where = ''
set @Select ='Select KeySkills from Jobseeker'
if(@KeySkills is not NULL )
begin
/* set @Where = ' KeySkills = ' + @KeySkills */
set @Where = ' KeySkills = ''' + @KeySkills + ''''
end
set @Select = @Select + @Where
EXEC sp_executesql @Select
RETURN
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF
GO
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
|
|
|
|
|
Oh! If you're going to use the sp_executesql you do not need the single quote between the @KeySkills.
And you're missing the WHERE clause after your SELECT statement.
Try this instead:
set @Where = ''
set @Select ='SELECT KeySkills FROM Jobseeker WHERE 1 = 1 '
if(@KeySkills is not NULL )
begin
<code>set @Where = ' AND KeySkills = @KeySkills '</code>
set @Select = @Select + @Where
SET @paramlist = '@KeySkills nvarchar(50)'
<code>EXEC sp_executesql @Select, @paramlist, @Keyskills</code>
Hope that one works.

You can do like this.
this will be there in codebehind page.
Button1.Attributes.Add( "onclick", "popWin()" );
and this in the html part.
<script><br />
function popWin(){<br />
window.open('http://msdn.microsoft.com', '', '');");<br />
}<br />
</script>

I have a created a user control which on compilation gives no error. BNut when I try to use this control on my web page gives me an error which sayd "Error creating user control" When I try to get the details of the error it says "Parse Error: Type "'System.Web.UI.UserControl' does not have a property named 'Title'". But I do have a property named Title in my user control. So what is the error. Can anyone help me out.
|
|
|
|
|
UserControl class already has a property named Title.
Make sure you don't override it with a new property in your custom user control that is private or protected, as it is probably called in the designer code.
Hope that helps.

Well 'Title' was just an example. It is giving me an error for all of my properties like 'TitleBarLeft' and 'TitleBarRight' etc.
