Hi,
IIS is not getting started!Even the World Wide Web Publishing!When I'm trying to create a web application,I'm getting an error as that the appln cannot be opened or created as Web Server is not running!I tried to connect from MMC!But I'm getting a message that The Connection couldn't get started!
What might be the workarounds for this problem?
Thank you!

try Start-> CMD -> IISReset /start
That should return some info if it can't start it, or start the lil bugger if it can....
Check in services to see if its properties specify Auto-Start with OS. (Oh - bit silly, but you have INSTALLED it haven't you? Not installed by default with windoze)

Hi all,
I am tring to print information present on webpage.
I am using Javascript for this purpose.
function CallPrint(strid)
{
var prtContent = document.getElementById(strid);
var WinPrint = window.open('','','letf=0,top=0,width=1,height=1,toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,status=0');
WinPrint.document.write(prtContent.innerHTML);
WinPrint.document.close();
WinPrint.focus();
WinPrint.print();
WinPrint.close();
prtContent.innerHTML=strOldOne;
}
///on page lod
imgPrint.Attributes.Add("onclick", "CallPrint('innerPage');")
//on image button click
Dim popupScript As String = "CallPrint('innerPage') ;"
Page.RegisterStartupScript("PopupScript", popupScript)
But this gives error
'DialogArguments_IE_PrintType' is Null or not an object.
If Any one knows something...let's share with me.
thanks,
Nagraj

Hello,
I have two pages that both contain a checkbox.
The first page contains a link to the second page.
I want to save the checkbox state when the user navigate to the second page.
I prefer not to perform it using parameter in the URL, I want to do it using the C#, that is, to send the first page to the server and when generating the second page, I want that the server will be able to see the checkbox state and to initialize it on the second page.
Thanks in advance,
Yossi

Put it into session maybe?

If you are using the ASP.NET 2, you can use the cross-page posting[^] with the LinkButton.PostBackUrl property, and in the second page you can access the checkbox of the first page.

Hi,
Thats sounds cool.
Does it post the whole page or only the LinkButton?
How do I access it?
Thanks,
Yossi

It posts the whole page and you can follow the link to see how to get the value/control of the source page.

Hi,
How do I save an uploaded file to something else? I have it as follows:
fuImage.SaveAs(Server.MapPath("../../images/winery/") + fuImage.FileName);
It uploads the file name as is, lets say it is myfile.jpg. What happens if I want to save the file as mase.jpg. How do I get this right?
Please can someone advise.
Regards,
ma se

I think i must be missing something in the question, but:
<br />
fuImage.SaveAs(Server.MapPath("../../images/winery/") + "mase.jpg");
|
|
|
|
|
Yes maybe a little bit, irrespective of what the file name and file extension is, I want it renamed. What I do is if I add a winery to the database, it returns the ID, and I want the pic saved as this ID.

does the above code not work for that?

Find the image name in the FileName and replace it with your own. Just a simple string operation.

Hi All,
I have a question connect with the build option...
I create website, where I create web user control. (C#) This is working correctly!
Possible create from this .ascx file .dll, which I can use other application or other web site? I can add after this .dll to the toolbox?
If yes, how can i solve this?!
Thank you, your answer and help!
Regards,
Gabor

Not sure if this will work, but you could try adding a web custom control to your project (essentially a class file) and inherit the user control you have created. This custom control will build down to a dll...
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks, but this is not working!
|
|
|
|
|
You can't do that. At least to my knowledge.
You need to create a Custom Control if you want your control build into a dll and be addable to the toolbox. Since custom controls are created in code, they can be built into a dll. User controls are files that contain HTML tags.

If you are using VS 2005, you can use the Web Project 2005[^] to create a reusable library for web user controls.

i planning to redevelop my company website which is in old asp...
i never use the Studio.net b4 and now even having problem to start a new project using microsoft studio.net.
I found out that Dreamweaver also can make asp.net which i can easy handle with the interface more easy... any one use it b4?? of is it better to use microsoft studio.net??? or macromedia dreamweave????

Visual studio, for all it's flaws is an excellent IDE for asp.net, but it is more code oriented, IMHO. If your website is much more layout and little code behind it, then you'd be better maybe with DreamWeaver.
however, if you can't get VS to open a new project for you, maybe you'd be better off investing the money in a few classes first... It's very different from the asp world
