Hi,
I want to write the exact replica of this in c#
Case 100 To 199
Return "One Hundred " & NumberToText(n Mod 100)
Case 200 To 999
Return "NumberToText"
after trying this in c#:
switch (n)
{
case (n==0): return "";
case (n>0 && n<20) : return "ada"
}
i get an error please suggest a way out
|
|
|
|
|
switch (n)<br />
{<br />
case (n==0): return "";<br />
case (n>0 && n<20) : return "ada";<br />
}
It's not that you're just missing a semi-colon there is it...
|
|
|
|
|
Hi,
switch (n)
{
case (n==0): return "";
case (n>0 && n<20) : return "ada";
}
gives the folowing error
cannot convert bool to int
|
|
|
|
|
You get that error message because you have a bool expression in the case statement. You can't have expressions in the case statement, only constants. You can only have distinct values, not ranges.
switch (n) {
case 0: return string.Empty;
case 1: return "one";
case 2: return "two"
default: return "other";
}
If you want to use ranges, you have to use if statements instead.

The frustrating thing is that you will have to use if statements in C#
to do this....

ballameharmurali wrote: how to change a view state false to trueto file field in uploading time
Do you mean you want the file field to persist the file path in its ViewState on postback? If so, then the answer is no as the value property of the file field is read-only at the client side.

Hi,
The web application that I have written, is capable to send emails.
There is a sample code at the bottom.
I figured this out by reading the msdn documentation and books.
There is a problem now. Although there are no erors, some of the emails to different email addresses do not get delivered.
I know that this code is not using outlook.
I was asked if this is using a relay server?
Do you think it is? If so how can I find out the name of the relay server?
Thanks
code to send email...
'Configure mail client
Dim mailClient As New SmtpClient("127.0.0.1")
'Create the mail message
Dim mailMessage As New MailMessage(from, [to], subject, body)
mailClient.Send(mailMessage) 'Send(Mail)

Hi All,
Greetings.Can any one tell me clear about what is session and what is the difference between session and cookies?
Thanks in advance
Babu
|
|
|
|
|
Session is saved in memory on the server, cookies are small text files saved on the client.
|
|
|
|
|
You have to make the distinction between session, session and Session:
:: A session in the browser is as long as you have a web site open.
:: A session for the server is until it assumes that the user went away, usually 20 minutes after the last request.
:: The Session object is the object that the server uses to keep track of a session.
As you are comparing the session to cookies, I assume that you don't mean sessions at all, but session variables.
Session variables is stored in the Session object on the server. Cookies is stored in the browser (or by the browser in a file) and are sent to the server in every request.

Hi!
my aspx code looks something like,

</ItemTemplate>
</asp:repeater>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:repeater>

The output is something like,

Hi,
Actually now my result looks exactly it should be which is as:

----------------------------------------------------------
the above data should be dynamically converted into 3 webcharts
2 webchart for scorecard ID 1 and 1 chart for scorecard ID 2
it would have been much easier if i could actually assign a datasource to a webchart programatically as i used to by simply
dotnetchart.datasource = [a data view that gives me a chart data]
dotnetchart.databind
I tried this but my chart is not showing up.
but i am having problem binding those data dynamically to dynamic web charts
--------------------------------------
I tried mycos and dotnetcharting but i couldnt bind those data to a webchart object dynamically. i tried using placeholder inside the third repeater too but i didnt get much luck with that.
a piece of vb code with both dotnetchart and mycos is below
---------------
Public Sub nestedRepeater_ItemDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.RepeaterItemEventArgs)
Dim dv As DataRowView = e.Item.DataItem
If Not (dv Is Nothing) Then
Dim subNestedRepeater As Repeater = e.Item.FindControl("SubNestedRepeater")
If Not (subNestedRepeater Is Nothing) Then
Dim Measure_ID As String = dv("Measure_ID").ToString()
'Here, instead of connecting to DB, we can simply get the previously populated
''dataset object stored in the DataSource of the parent repeater and query data.
'FOR DOTNETCHARTING

Dim dynChart As New dotnetCHARTING.Chart
'Set Chart 1 properties
dynChart.Title = "My Chart 1"
dynChart.Type = dotnetCHARTING.ChartType.Combo
dynChart.XAxis.Label.Text = "Customers"
dynChart.DefaultSeries.DefaultElement.Transparency = 35
dynChart.TempDirectory = "temp"
dynChart.Use3D = True
dynChart.Debug = True
dynChart.Width = Unit.Parse(420)
dynChart.Height = Unit.Parse(300)
' Add the random data.
Dim nestedRepeater As Repeater = e.Item.Parent
Dim subDs As DataSet = nestedRepeater.DataSource
Dim dataView As DataView = New DataView(subDs.Tables(1))
dataView.RowFilter = "Measure_ID = '" & Measure_ID & "'"
'raw data
'-------------
'subNestedRepeater.DataSource = dataView ' dv.CreateChildView("NestThemSub")
'subNestedRepeater.DataBind()
'FOR MYCOS CHARTING TOOL
'----------------------------
Dim chart As New MycosChartWeb
chart.DataSource = dataView
chart.DataBind()
Dim i As Integer
For i = 0 To subNestedRepeater.Items.Count - 1
subNestedRepeater.Items(i).FindControl("Placeholder1").Controls.Add(chart)
Next
'dotNetCharting.dll
'---------------------
'dynChart.Series.Data = dataView
'dynChart.SeriesCollection.Add()
End If
End If
End Sub
---------------

Hi,
is there anyway i can implement charting function freely available within visual studio.net framework
thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, you can manage on your own to create chart in the ASP.NET like the example from the article[^], however IMO you'd better use a third party component which may save lot of your effort, for example the DundasChart. If you're not familiar with a third party component, you might want to contact thier support team, and I think they're more than willing to give you a hand to integrate the component into your application.
