That's because you do it in the RowDataBound event handler which basically happens when data is bound to the control. On postback, this method does not execute if you don't bind data, and the button reappear. So like I said in the other post, you should use two controls here and simple use the Visible property to control the visibility of the controls as this property is persisted in the ViewState.

Hi Developers
I have written code for two way sorting of Datagrid, and its working fine, BUT I want to have two "Arrows"(Upward and Downward) in each column of datagrid. So that when I click on upward arrow grid is sort in Descending and when I click downward arrow grid should be sorted in Ascending Order.
Any code or reference related to this will solve my problem.

our asp.net 1.1 site, in our home page there are few links. that links javascipt written in C#

this is working fine for IE6. but problem with it is not working in case of Mozilla firefox browser.

i have a problem in xslt and xml technologies.
in my ap.net application i have a xml file and an xslt file which cnverts the xml file into html view using an xml control of asp.net.
here i am able to print my html view which is displayed in xml control, which is placed in aspx page.
my problem is how to insert page breaks in xslt file, so that i can print multiple pages with page breaks after every 15 records.
here i am using window.print() to print the document.
kindly help me.
my work was strucked here.

Hi frends
I have developed my web application by using ASP.net 2.0 but not getting the idea to implement this on server .....
as we do in asp.net 1.1 create dll file and put it into bin folder keep all the .aspx files in folder and upload on to web server.....
but in ASP.net 2.0 i am unable to create the DLL file and configure to IIS also...
anybody can help.......

Web application contains folder App_Code, which contains files to be compiled (no need of dll, just put these files in this folder). Note that only files placed in this folder are compiled.
If you need to reference dll, then add reference to it as in .NET 1.1, right click your project, add reference... it will create bin folder with referenced dll.
Another idea is to create instalation package which do dirty work for you.

We are using ie web controls treeview. We have used client side selectedindexchanged for performance issues. It works fine in IE. But in Netscape rendering is entirely different and posts back for all the clicks. How to make SelectedIndexChange clientside event work in Netscape also.

As you may already know that the Microsoft TreeView controls renders differently with IE and non-Microsoft browsers, and IMO you'll have 2 options here:
+ Keep using the control, but you need to edit the source code of the control to make it work with non-Microsoft browsers like Netscape.
+ Don't use the Microsoft IE controls, use a third party control instead which support multiple browsers, you can check out the control gallery[^].

i have 2 tables, table1 and talbe2, these table have relationship: master-detail, for example:
talbe1: id_dept
dept_name
......
table2: id_staf
staf_name
id_dept
i use a datagrid to diaplay data from table1, when i click to id_dept at each rows in datagrid, i want to move detail_page2.aspx and it will display all infomation about staf in dept that has that id_dept. how can i do it??? i want to use Session variable. pl help.

Why do u want to use session variable.U can Directly use Templete column on 1st page and on ItemDataBound Event u can use this:

I'm sorry not to see your preponse, but I was offline right after posting the reply at the end of the day, I then had some beers with my friends and watched World Cup football games.
Here, there are a couple of things that I'm not clear and you might want to check:
+ Does the remote machine sits in the same domain as yours?
+ Does the ASP.NET process identity has access to the remote machine. Basically, your ASP.NET application runs under the local account (ASPNET or NETWORK SERVICE) which has limited privilege, so you try to impersonate a domain acount which can access the remote machine when you use the Process class. For more information, see ASP.NET process identity[^]
Btw, if you cannot wait until seeing my reply, you feel free to post a new thread with your new access denied issue so that other people can shed some light on it.
