Is it possible to simulate text input into a html form using Javascript, and then simulate clicking a button on the form?

It is possible to simulate text input using Javascript.
You can use setTimeout('functionName()', timeInMillisecond); to introduce a delay in entering the text (call the function to write the text in a letter-by-letter basis, use counter).
To raise a button click event, you can use document.getElementById('buttonId').click();
If what you meant is to move the mouse cursor around then I don't think it can be done.

Well sorta...but not like you would in SDK...
You could in javascript, concatenate current text with the simulated character...
document.forms.myform.myinput.value+="a"
Something like that...as far as emulating an actual keystroke or sending a WM_KEYDOWN message to the window...I don't think so...
As for your other question...
Yes, Javascript has a click()
Something like:
document.forms.myform.mybutton.click()
This I eblieve fires the onclick handler for the given element
You could also submit a form using:
document.forms.myform.mybutton.submit()
This I believe fires the onsubmit() and sends the FORM to the URL set in the action attribute...
This code isn't tested and may be off (missing objects, etc) but you get the idea...

Yes, kind of, if the Javascript is in the same page, or in a page on the same website. You can't do it to a page from a different website.

Hello
I have a webservice exposing various methods. I also have a win application (Click-once) that uses the webservice methods.
I would like to prevent any other access to the webservice so no other user\client can invoke the methods. I do not want to manualy check this on the server side but would more like to have a strong name signing between the webservice and the windows application.
Any one can help on this ?
Gilad.

you can use another web service and web methods for authentication.
now anytime anyone use your web methods you can check authentication.

Hi
This is my second option. I wouldn't want users that *DO* have authorazation to use the WebService to use it without the specific application that I give them. I want the users to be able to use the webservice ONLY with the special application I provide.

Hi all,
Currently i am working with Microsoft Aplication server.
I have two servers devxyx and devabcinstalled with Application center with NLB enabled.
I have created a cluster with these to servers as members where
devxyzis the cluster controller.
The internet name for the cluster is 'testClusterAC'.
I have added web application 'TestWebApp' to this cluster.
Now my problem is that how to access this web site from another system?
What will be the url of the application?
How can i test the load balancing when a request from client reaches the cluster?
awaiting for replies,

Hi,
I have two functions; one is in C# and the other one is in javascipt.
There is a need for me to call the C# function inside the javascipt function.
How can I achieve this? (please give an example using either C# or VB.NET)
|
|

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot call a server side function from client side script (i.e. Javascript).
I think there is only way to achieve this, i.e. use AJAX.

Not strictly true - put a hidden button on the form (Width="0" NOT Visible="false" cos this will prevent it being rendered), then get the javascript to click the button using document.getElementById('myButton').click();

you can type a click handler in flash source, and also can using DHTML add link for the flash
step:
create a "DIV" on the flash, and add a click handler for the div layer.

use window.open method and document.write() method to printing
like this:
var wnd = window.open("","","");
wnd.document.write(document.body.innerHTML);//or your html string
wnd.print();
