Hi all,
Very much confuse with this.
I have a datagrid, and i am able to pass the value to javascript function through "onclick" event as below:
e.item.attributes.add("onclick","javascript:myfunction('"+value1+"');");
but, when i am trying to pass the value of the first row on datagrid through "onload" event as below:
dg.Items[0].Attributes.Add("onload","javascript:myfunction('"+value1+"');");
it's not passing the value.
I have to use onload event, so i can display default value th' javascript function.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
NIKI

Make sure that you run this code after the datasource is bound to the grid control. Also, you can keep using the ItemDataBound event handler, but you can detect the first row so that you only run your code with this row.

I am using a HttpHandler (the ASP.NET 1.1 DynamicImage control from MSDN --
http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/04/04/CuttingEdge/
My project structure is like i have one project of Controls and one web application and one DAL in my project.
I have placed the DynamicImage.cs and CachedImageService.cs in the controls project.
It is mentioned in the site that a setting has to be made in web.config file also which is something like this:
"<httpHandlers>
<add verb="GET"
path="cachedimageservice.axd"
type="MsdnMag.CachedImageService,DynamicImage" />
</httpHandlers>"
But i am unable to add the same in web.config, it gives some rutime error.
The assemble name for both the files have been changed say deepak.controls
And for what is axd file used.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
Thanks!

In addition, you can also create a custom http handler in a file ending with .ashx which basically does not require you to configure in the web.config file.

Hello All,
I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I am trying to draw a line or possibly several lines within a div control using (x1,y1,x2,y2) points. I do not want to use VML or JavaScript, I am hoping for something native to ASP.NET.
Thanks in Advance

You can generate an image on the fly using GDI+ then save that image to the server for display using a normal IMG tag

I saw the GDI+ solution, however, the size of the div's vary and there is an image already in the div cotrol. So the only solution is to then create a transparent image with my lines on it that is dynamically generated and has a higher z-index?

Then you're pretty scuppered as I've been finding out!!!
There are no functions (AFAIK) that allow you to "draw" to an area of a webform - the only way to do it is to use divs - to draw a vertical line, use a div 1px wide, and 1px tall for a horizontal line...of course the problem arises when you wanna draw a sloped line hehe!
SVG an option?

hot apots are client side, nothing to do with ASP.NET - so the answer to your question is that you create them in exactly the same way you always have with HTML.

I have a webform application that is using Windows authentication. This may not be a tough question but I am new to ASP.NET. How can I give access to both Windows and Mac users without creating my own login page or specifying each user and password in the web.conf file?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Doesnt Windows Authentication just ask for a user name and password on an unauthenticated machine, through the browser? It shouldnt matter what platform the client machine is running. I could be wrong but doesnt the web server handle the authentication for web users... If you specify users and passwords in the web.config file I dont think you are using windows authentication anymore...

We developed the website worldfurnituresource.com for a client. Till last week it was running smoothly. Early this week the client started reporting that Norton AntiVirus 2006 was giving an internet worm intrusion warning while he was accessing the site.
The NAV log file lists the following:
Details: Attempted Intrusion "HTTP MSIE Multiple Style Tags Code Exec" against your machine was detected and blocked.
Intruder: www.worldfurnituresource.com(216.69.129.225)(http(80)).
Risk Level: High.
Protocol: TCP.
We are unable to identify which bit of code on our site (and on which page) is trigerring this alert. The strange thing is that sometimes we get this alert on a particular page and sometimes that page loads up without any issues.
So far Norton tech support hasn't been able to give us any insights into what we need to look at and fix.
We are pretty sure that our systems are free from viruses and worms as scans with Norton and McAfee are not showing anything so the likelhood that there is a genuine worm seems low.
It seems that there is some script we have which is possibly similar to something which Norton considers suspect.
Any help in sorting out this problem will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi folks,
let me explain what i am doing, i have a huge directory of images on my disk. Which is not a part of my web application you can say its on another partition.
So while saving images i save the path of the image which is not a url.
The problem i am facing is that whenever someone see that pic and right click on the same the Absolute path is shown that is (d:\something\picture\1.jpg).
Hos can this problem be solved, But i dont want that images directory to b part of the web application.
Right now i am using asp.net image control.
Thanks in Advance.
