Hi there,
In the second ObjectDataSource you can define a ControlParameter as a SelectParameter, and this paramater is pointed at the first dropdownlist control with the PropertyName is the SelectedValue.
Also, when the dropdownlist has a single item, IMO you may not need to postback the web page.

I think this could be DNS problem. I would say that IP you are trying to resolve has no appropriate name in DNS database. But I never met exception like this and what I did write is only my opinion.

Don't get me wrong here, but it sounds like you need to be learning a whole web technology, not just the small bit to do what you require here?
Have you looked through some of the asp.net tutorials?

i m using two javascript functions in my asp.net project. these are the functions
function valEnb(){
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldUserID"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldPassword"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldConfirmPwd"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldConfirmPwd1"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldFirstName"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldFLName"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldEmail"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldEmail1"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldCountry"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldCity"),true);
}
function valDis(){
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldUserID"),true);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldPassword"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldConfirmPwd"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldConfirmPwd1"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldFirstName"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldFLName"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldEmail"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldEmail1"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldCountry"),false);
ValidatorEnable(document.getElementById("vldCity"),false);
}
these functions are used to enable or disable the validations. i call this functions on page_Load event.
btnCheckID.Attributes.Add("onclick", "valDis();")
btnSubmit.Attributes.Add("onclick", "valEnb();")
but Internet explorer shows an error message - Error : object expected
in FF java console shows like this - Error : ValidatorEnable is not declared

No what i was asking is have you included ValidatorEnable (what i suppose is, this is a user defined function and needs to be included in the page in order to use them.) funtion in your page.

Hi apurva,

Hi Thomas,
As far as I know,"ValidatorEnable" is a function defined in the "WebUIValidation.js" file which is present in the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\1_1_4322 folder...
Try copying aspnet_client folder to the root of your website...Your application is probably not able to find the required file.

Once we declare in ASP.NET Page Tag - EnableViewState="false" but, it will just work like EnableViewState="true".
So the Question is what is its working? and what is the difference between EnableViewState true or false.
|
|
|
|
|
Hi,
To understand the difference..I suggest you read the foll. article
http://www.extremeexperts.com/Net/Articles/ViewState.aspx
especially the example mentioned in the "Decision on ViewState Usage" section
