FWIK it doesn't store them as files any longer, just a binary image. But you can use a "shared folder" and store your files there.

Another option is to simply treat the emulator as a device: open the Device Emulator Manager from the Tools menu. Ensure you don't have any devices connected to ActiveSync (you will need to have ActiveSync 4.x installed), that 'Allow connections to one of the following' is checked and that DMA is selected underneath. Right-click 'Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator' in Device Emulator Manager and select Cradle. You should see a message on the emulator saying that it's connecting, and ActiveSync's icon should turn green.
Once the ActiveSync icon stops spinning, you can click Cancel to get out of the Create Partnership wizard, then click Explore on ActiveSync's toolbar, or right-click the ActiveSync icon and click Explore.

Hi nzmike,
here is the solution of ur problem.
Go according to the following path in ur PC.
StartMenu-> Programs->Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 ->Visual Studio Remote Tools -> Remote File Viewer.
After this use the PPC2003 emulator and wait for connections. then from the ToolBar menu Import or Export the files in the particular folder.
I think it will solve ur problem.
Plz send me the reply.
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
I need some basic information about Windows XP embedded - development:
- Do regular Win32-Apps run on Windows XP embedded?
- Is there a special SDK or can I use the "normal" Win SDK?
- Do I have to consider something special when developing?
Thanks,
Chris

I have added a slider control to my app and a handler for 'mouse capture release' (when the user lets go of the slider) using the 'NM_RELEASEDCAPTURE' notification and a function called OnNMReleasedcaptureSliderXXXX function.
However, when I compile it fails, saying 'NM_RELEASEDCAPTURE' : undeclared identifier .
I can't understand it. Any ideas why?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Ali

Right, that's pretty annoying as VS2005 lets you add the slider control to the dialog!
Oh well, thanks for the info,

Give me ideas or sample codes for this.

traapons wrote: 1. From Device
Write a gui-less exe to grab the screen, either using the "desktop" dc or from the video memory with GAPI. Save the resulting image in whatever format suits you. Assign a hardware button to start it.
traapons wrote: 2. From PC [ Which is connected via active sync]
Use the above mentioned exe or wrap the funtionality in a dll. Use RAPI (CeCreateProcess or CeRapiInvoke) to start the capture process. You can use CeReadFile to grab the resulting file or use IRapiStream to transfer the data directly.

RAPI.dll is installed with together with activesync, lib & headers should be shipped with whatever SDK you plan to use for your pda development under [SDK-PATH]\support\ActiveSync\

Hello. I know this is disturbing, but I have a CDialog window and I tried to overwrite the OnPaint message handler. However, the overwritten method is not being called, despite I added the ON_WM_PAINT. I tried with other messages: ON_WM_ERASEBKGND, ON_WM_LBUTTONDOWN, ON_WM_MOVE, and it is not working. Any idea?
The particularity of this dialog is that I have many CStatic with images, and one of such image fills the entire window.
Any help will be really appreciated.

FG.

Hi, I already resolved the mystery of the lost messages. One of my CStatic covers the entire area of the window. I removed such CStatic and it worked perfectly.
It seems that since another window covers the CDialog, WinCE determines that there is no need for sending the WM_PAINT message to the CDialog. Weird

Hello everybody,
i am developing a mobile web application in asp.net 2003.
I have to write and read a cookie in mobile, when user uses the application for the first time. so that he/she will not be
prompted for the login from next time and directly redirected to the index page. i have used the same technology for handling cookies as in normal asp.net. but here it is not working.
Have any one idea about how to write and read cookies for mobile web application?

text/vnd.wap.wml.
This error occurs when you request a page that is not a WAP page, or when
the webserver isn't set up correctly for hosting WAP sites "

Hi, I created a couple of dialogs for my application with group boxes, radio buttons & check boxes. When I run it the group boxes are there but the radio buttons & check boxes are missing!
I'm using Visual Studio 2005. I created the diaplogs using the wizard just like I would for a non mobile app, and when I run test dialog they are visible. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?
Many Thanks,
Ali

Update: - I have found that my group boxes were covering the radio buttons & check boxes, which is why I couldn't see them. I guess I need to make the group boxes transaparent or put them 'behind the buttons' - any one know how I do that?
I don't understand because group boxes are normally transparent anyway! What use are they if they obliterate the controls inside them?
Thanks for any ideas,
Ali

You need to set the tab order so that the check boxes appear earlier in the tab order than the group box. The tab order determines the order that the controls are created in and therefore their Z-order.
Group boxes aren't generally used very often in Pocket PC applications - the .NET Compact Framework doesn't even have a group box control.

Thanks Mike,
I didn't realise that. I even went and changed the tab order to put the group box first
It seemed like a good idea to my foggy Monday morning brain!!!
Thanks Again,
