Hello. I want to get some values with C# from an excel file but I got below error message.
An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in WindowsApplication1.exe
Additional information: Old format or invalid type library.
I referenced Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library and I use .Net 2003. What might be the problem? My codes are below. Thanks.
Excel.Application excelApp = new Excel.ApplicationClass();
excelApp.Visible = true;
string workbookPath = "D:/a.xls";
Excel.Workbook excelWorkbook = excelApp.Workbooks.Open(workbookPath,
0, false, 5, "", "", false, Excel.XlPlatform.xlWindows, "",
true, false, 0, true, false, false);

Make sure that you're Main method is marked with the STAThread attribute as all COM Interop requires this.

When using Visual Studio I am very doubtful that this can be done, alas if you use something like NSIS or InstallShield, you can specify a limit to make the file sizes, infact I am very sure that you can specify that this will be going on a 700mb cd-rom, make sure the resulted files do not exceed this size, or span across two or more cd's.
2gb of resources, hell boy what you packing?

Have you tried WIX (Windows Installer XML) toolkit? This one is free and has all the options for creating msi files...
http://sourceforge.net/projects/wix/[^]
I'm not sure if it can setups for multiple CD's, but it's worth looking at, since it allows you to create more flexible setups.

If you can't find a tool to split resources. ( I don't see why it would exist) Then you can alway write your own installer. I am not sure but I would imagine that MSI's have the capability to run scripts and maybe even applications. That could help.

Just double check you spelt things corectly since MD5CSP resides in mscorlib which should be added already. Apart from that I can see no problems.

I am writing a MIME parser and i need to convert the Windows-1252 encoded strings to utf-8. For example, the text =?Windows-1252?Q?une_beaut=E9=? should become une beauté.
Do you know what the conversion algorithm is? Does a "shortest" method exist in the framework?

I think there is no method for parsing this string.
The only thing you can do is to split the string, take the E9 and then using Byte.Parse to take the byte. Then you can convert it using System.Encoding.Convert(... to convert it from Window-1252 to UTF8. Then take the string back from that byte array.
