He was being sarcastic, add more ram to the server, ideally 4GB but a minimum of 2GB

You need to check the performance of your system. I also agree to the other post that you might need to improve your RAM, but what I suggest first is you should check the performance of your system. Try to log on as administrator account, go to control panel, administrative tool, Performance. Then try to se the graphic of your hardware performance. The result from this test will let you know what is the main problem.

Hi,
I was looking for an Windows API which would take the current date/time, local time zone and return true/false indicating whether the current time / time-zone is using daylight saving or not.
If no API is available pls direct me to some useful links
Thanks.

You could use GetSystemTime and GetLocalTime, and see if they are the same.

noooooooooo.... Don't do that if you actually need the destination machine to do anything. I foolishy installed it on a whim, but its sooo unstable I wouldn't trust any results.
better off waiting to at least the Release Candidate version, which is probably a long way off!

hi....
well actually i am very new to this Operating System and don't have any idea.... the downloading speed here is in pakistan is too slow and i don't want to be stuck in downloading an editor for myself... i just want to know if there is an editor in the Mandriva flavor of linux, so that i can use.... if there isn't any editor i might well be using some kind of a pad like notepad etc in Mandriva along with compiler...
i need just only one way to do application development in c/c++ using mandriva linux.
please help me in getting rid of this confusion...
thanx

Which version of Mandriva?
Most likely there's a whole bunch of different editors you can choose from: gedit, emacs, kate, nano, vi, ...
Why don't you try the Mandriva Club forums[^]?

Which version of Mandriva 2006? Discovery/Lx[^], PowerPack[^], PowerPack+[^] or Mandriva One[^]?
haseeb_saeed wrote: whats the story about rpm.
RPM[^] is the package management system used in Mandriva, SUSE, Fedora, Red Hat and some other Linux distributions. Normally you use some kind of front-end program to manage software installation and updates instead of the basic "rpm" terminal command.

SciTE[^] is all I can say .
If you want an IDE rather than an editor try out CodeBlocks[^] or MinGW Dev Studio (sorry I can never remember the link but it's something like parayinhasoft.com)

I'm in a rare mood today...
Would you like to specify what you need help with, or should we just list the millions of possibilities in a text file and you point at it when it scrolls by?
