Thank you very much Mohammad!
Could you show me a link by Microsoft to clarify this issue please? I would like to keep it to show to others when they say Windows Mobile 2005.

i m using VC# using smartphone 2003.one image is dispalyed as a back ground image and another image(Stretchimage) is displayed as a superimposed on the background Image. the stretch image should be displayed in run time only.
direct path of the image should not be given. we declare in one variable(in that variable we have to give the path) and we call that variable whereever we want.

First question: how can I set the background of a DateTimePicker control to a particular colour? Since there's no BackColor property I guess the only option is to create a custom control and override Paint or OnPaintBackground right? Anyone got a better (simpler!) idea on how I can do this?
Second question: I have a config file which I load up at app initializtion which defines the colour names for things like form background, default text color, button color, etc, etc. I want to convert the names of those colors (eg: AliceBlue) into a Color object but I'm not sure how to do that... it must be simple but nothing I've tried works. I think you can do this in normal winforms but not in CF.Net AFAICS.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Friends,
I created a dialog based application VC++ .net platform. I placed edit box on the dialog form. When I place the mouse on the edit box and right click it, add variable in the pop up menu is disabled. I want the edit box to accept string input only for this purpose , I not able specify the type of input the edit box will accept.
For example CString m_accept. I am not able to do this .
Can any one tell me were I can enable the "add variable" in the pop menu?

Please check the following code:
string myHost = System.Net.Dns.GetHostName();
IPHostEntry localhost = Dns.Resolve("localhost");
client.LocalIPEndPoint = new IPEndPoint(System.Net.Dns.GetHostByName(myHost).AddressList[0], 5060);
Is it ok if I use the above code for Windows Mobile Application , VS 2005.
Right now i am testing with emulator causing problem to register with SIP Server.
Please give the solution.

I'm creating a prototype of a Cf.Net 2.0 PDA app for a prospective client and I've gone through and designed, built and populated a database using SQL Server 2005... and then realised where I really need it is on the PDA! Without going through all the pain of setting up SQL replication is there a way to export a 2005 database to SQL Server Mobile so it results in an .SDF file?
TIA for any help...
Mike

What we used to do in the SQL Server 2000/SQL Server CE 2.0 generation was to design the database as a SQL Server 2000 database in Enterprise Manager, then use the Generate Script feature to produce a suitable script to execute, then remove any features that SQL Server Mobile doesn't support and split the script between statements, since SQL Mobile does not allow multi-statement batches (as far as I know - SQL CE 2.0 did not, as I recall).
Scripting the data is trickier - you'll need to generate loads of INSERT...VALUES statements, and I don't think there's a built-in SQL Server tool for doing this. It appears that Management Studio cannot Import Data from a file into a SQL Server Mobile database in the same way that it can for a SQL Server database. You might try using Red Gate's SQL Data Compare[^] tool.

Thanks Mike - I needed to get it done so I did exactly that... created a script from the main DB, altered it so it ran on SQL CE and then created insert statememts with an excel macro and data copied from the enterprise manager "Open table" grids... works OK but what a ridiculous amount of effort for two products that really should be to do this sort of thing. Perhaps when SQL Everywhere comes out we won't have these issues as, from what I've read, the database is one and the same whether on the PDA or on the desktop/server.... bring it on is all I can say!!
|
|
|
|
|
I think Microsoft are still intending the main use of SQL Server Everywhere Edition to be as a subscriber to a replication publication, so I suspect that there won't be any improvement in the tools in that area.
You can contact the SQL Server Everywhere team through their blog's Contact link at http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlservereverywhere/contact.aspx[^].

Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping you can help me as I have a really simple problem, which I suspect someone will know a really simple answer to, but I just can't seem to find the answer and I've spent hours reading the help and searching the Internet!
Having looked in eVC++ 3.0 Help under Text Headers it says to use a static text with a line (1 pixel) under it instead of a group box (more space efficient).
So all I want to do is to draw a dividing line on a dialog window - just like I might drop a static text component on the form I'd like to drop a line.
But how????
Can't believe it is that easy!

Hi fellows,
given a CListCtrl in a dialog with a report style, how can I change the color of the selected row? I'm doing the following on my handler of the ON_NOTIFY_REFLECT:
<br />
void CCvList::OnDrawList(NMHDR* pNMHDR, LRESULT* pResult)<br />
{<br />
int iRow;<br />
static bool bHighlighted;<br />
NMLVCUSTOMDRAW* pLVCD = reinterpret_cast<NMLVCUSTOMDRAW*>( pNMHDR );<br />
<br />
*pResult = CDRF_DODEFAULT;<br />
<br />
if (CDDS_PREPAINT == pLVCD->nmcd.dwDrawStage)<br />
{<br />
*pResult = CDRF_NOTIFYITEMDRAW;<br />
}<br />
else if (CDDS_ITEMPREPAINT == pLVCD->nmcd.dwDrawStage)<br />
{<br />
COLORREF crText;<br />
<br />
iRow = (int)pLVCD->nmcd.dwItemSpec;<br />
bHighlighted = ListView_GetItemState(m_hWnd, iRow, LVIS_SELECTED) != 0;<br />
<br />
if (bHighlighted) <br />
{<br />
crText = RGB(255, 127, 0);<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
crText = RGB(255, 255, 255);<br />
}<br />
<br />
pLVCD->clrTextBk= crText;<br />
<br />
ListView_SetItemState(m_hWnd, iRow, bHighlighted? 0xFF : 0, LVIS_SELECTED);<br />
<br />
*pResult = CDRF_DODEFAULT | CDRF_NOTIFYPOSTPAINT;<br />
}<br />
else if (CDDS_ITEMPOSTPAINT == pLVCD->nmcd.dwDrawStage)<br />
{<br />
if (bHighlighted)<br />
{<br />
iRow = (int)pLVCD->nmcd.dwItemSpec;<br />
pLVCD->clrTextBk = RGB(255, 127, 0);<br />
<br />
ListView_SetItemState(m_hWnd, iRow, bHighlighted? 0xFF : 0, LVIS_SELECTED);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
following this article, but it is not working. Any clue will be really appreciated.

Hello,
I'm trying to write a little app that displays the number of voicemails the user has on the Today screen. I see that .NET has a function to retrieve this info, but I have scoured MSDN and can't find a native function or a registry key that retreives this info. It's gotta be simple - anyone know?
