You can add an html table in an item template. That html table can have as many rows / columns as you want.

In design view right click on the datagrid and select edit template. Or just write out the HTML.

If you're not pulling back to many records then you could load all four query results into one dataSet with 4 datatables. You could cache the dataset or store it in viewstate. Then use a dataview to filter your datatable then bind the list box to the dataview.

Hi guys,
I keep posting on formating Dates in the BoundField of a GridView control but all suggestions haven't yielded any good yet.
My Problem:
I'm using MySQL and as we know, it wants its date in "yyyy/MM/dd". Now the gridview I have shows the date's retrieved in this format: 7/30/2006 12:00 AM, meaning that the date is retrieved as "MM/dd/yyyy".
What I want:
I access this retrieved date on update to run my own simultaneous update on a database table. I therefore need the date in the "yyyy/MM/dd" format otherwise the MySQL server stores "0000-00-00" in the field.
I believe I'm clear enough now.
Someone proposed I use HtmlEncode="false" but it dosen't do Jack for me.
Thanks good people.
Live in fragments no longer. Only connect.

The GridView will not autoFormat the date for you in that way. Put code in the itemdatabound event to create a string and display the string.

well you need to tranform the data source. The grid view is pretty and all, but really has nothing to do with the data.
Im guess your calling Update on the DataSet?

Hi,
I'm confused as to how should I create a login for my website administrative module.
There will be a number of users with administrative rights and other users with other rights such as billing department etc.
The users are in a sql database table.
every user type has a certain page access.
if a user not having admin rights tries to enter a page meant for admin, he should be denied access.
So how should i do it.
I've done this in ASP using session variables.
But how to do it in ASP.Net
I'm new to .Net and want a way better than ASP and simple way.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Rizwan

You can check the usertype of the user in the page. And on having correct credentials only it will proceed otherwise will be redirected to the login page.

Hi all
I am using following menu.xml.
<Site>
<MenuItem Text="My Copyprint" Value="0" Enabled="false" Url="">
<MenuItem Text="Anmelden" Url="~/Register.aspx" Value="0"/>
<MenuItem Text="Kundenkonto ändern" Url="~/CustomerData.aspx" Value="1"/>
</MenuItem>
<MenuItem Text="Visitenkarten" Value="1" Enabled="false" Url="">
<MenuItem Text="Datei hochladen und bestellen" Url="~/ProductUpload.aspx" Value="0"/>
<MenuItem Text="Layout selber gestalten" Url="~/ProductLayout.aspx" Value="1"/>
</MenuItem>
<MenuItem Text="Warenkorb" Url="~/Basket.aspx" Value="0"/>
</Site>
On menu item click I want to know the "Url" value corresponding to the node clicked on.
I am using following code,
url = XmlMenuSource.GetXmlDocument().SelectSingleNode(
String.Format("//MenuItem[@Value={0}]/MenuItem[@Value={1}]",
MainMenu.SelectedItem.ValuePath.Split(@"/".ToCharArray())[0],
MainMenu.SelectedItem.ValuePath.Split(@"/".ToCharArray())[1])
).Attributes["Url"].Value;
but this code fails when I click on "Warenkorb".
can anyone pls suggest me how can i do it?
Thanks in advance.

datagrid is for backwars compatibility
and a gridview is more responsive to the data
