i am trying to upload a file to an https server. when i use iexplorer (ms internet explorer) it works. when i try my app its not working, who would of guessed right. i have an http packet analyzer and everything appears the same as iexplorer. it looks like i am sending the exact same data as iexplorer is sending.

Hello everyone,
I am a complete noob at web programming. I have a text interface application written in Python which I would like to web-"interface". The application produces mostly graphs ... the text interface is object oriented, the user can define the curves that he wants to put on the graph, how the graph looks like and how the page looks like ( curve, plot and document object ). The configuration files are in xml.
So, what my web application should do, is:
to present the user with the posibility to edit different options
the language i will be using should be powerfull enough to allow me to group options in objects and be able to create new objects easily ( ex. you can have more curves on the plot ), should be able to easily work with xml files.
send the request to the application on the server ( and maybe be able to save request )
display the resulting image that resulted from the call.
Soooo, all I would need is some guidelines, because, since I am a noob, I don't even know where to start from and what to use.
Plase help and sorry for the noobness.

Normally, kicking off stored procedures wouldn't be a problem in my .NET 2.0 webapp, but some of them take an exorbitant amount of time to run. Since I'm trying to make this tool relatively friendly for internal developers, I wanted to use threads to monitor stored procedures. At the same time, I want to be able to keep track of each thread and see if they're still being executed or if they're done running. The main thing I'm wondering, is what would be the easiest way for me to create a pool accessible to the whole web application? I can easily declare threads per page, but I want everything to be transparent to all users using the web application. Any input on this would be great.

Hi All,
Here's one unique problem that I am facing. I am having a TreeView control on one page, which I need to bind to on the fly generated XMLDocument / XMLDataDocument object. But asp.net TreeView control only supports objects as DataSource which implement IHierarchicalData interface.
So if one wants to avoid an access to physical file to read the actual XML file and then bind it using the new 2.0 XMLDataSource object. How do we achieve this to bind an on the fly generated XMLDocument to be used for TreeView ?
Pls guide me.

Thanks for the reply, but the problem is that the Treeview control can be bound only to Datasources that implement IHierarchicalData interface, whereas Dataset doesn't implement this interface and niether does XMLDataDocument class does. so how do I create an xml structure in C# with data and bind the created object with TreeView ??
Pls let me know. I am highly confused, because the idea of binding an actual XML file works but that needs a physical file access everytime the TreeView has to be bound. And that doesn't seem logical

i place a button on webform2 to change the size programatically but unable to change size of screen.

hi,
I have a simple form in which i have a functionality to add , delete and edit records. Record Addition functionality is at the top of the form and the remaining update and delete functionality is provided in the datagrid. The problem is that i apply dotnet validators to the insertion form fields. These validators working fine on insertion operation. But i also implement validation when record is going to update. When i place validator in the datagrid and press the update button , then this update button also validate the insertion form fields. So i want that when i press "Add" button then only insertion validators validate the fields and when i press update button of the datagrid then only grid validatord validate the fields.
I am uning C# / ASP.NET

hi all gurus here ,
I am working on a website where product image comes from other site means its template. The path of the iamge shows that sites address. I want to hide that path or want to make that path such that id doesn't show others site name. i tried this with disabling right click but it is not the solution. Is there any way to encrypt image path? It is only for one image so i can't use base url .
I home some solution...I got stuck with this.

When your website link to an other site, it has no solution to encrype that site address.

You need to filter your recordset to include less results. Nobody, will look at a Combobox with 18000 items in it!
Maybe you can use several comboboxes to categorize the results, so the last combobox will have just a few items.
Example:
combobox 1: States
combobox 2: Counties
combobox 3: Towns
combobox 4: Cool Places

In ASP you can use an application variable to cache the result of a database query. Then when a page loads you grab the variable instead of hitting the database, speeding things up and using less resources at the same time. PHP most likely has something similar. Now, I correctly pick out the query string (everything after the "?"), and for most entries it works fine....However, I have a couple of them that even though I pick out the query string, it doesnt replace the whole thing...for example:

the pattern: "(\?)[(\w\.\&*)+(\=)[\w\d ]*"
has been changed to: "(\?)[(\w\.\-\&*)+(\=)[\w\.\-\ ]*"
What im trying (and I DO) match is the query string (from the ? to the end of it, which may be a "'")...the reason there are so many other things is that the query string may contain & (not &) as well as "." and "-"...the problem doesnt seem to be with the regular expression, but with the replacement part
if I change my code to this then everything works out fine...

if i want to push a keywords in the search engine of google for example.
for example: the user search for "car" keyword.
i want for my website to be in one of the results of the "car" keyword (not necessary to be on top ten of the search results)
and the hoster of my website doesn't provide this functionality.
what should i do?
