I'm not getting sick so quickly .

Well you should have read the article more carefully. Yes the extender only works in conjunction with DataView, DataTable or DataSet. This is simply because I'm using some of the internal functionalities of those classes.
Maybe filling your objects from a collection into a DataTable might work for you.

Hi @all
I was looking around for a solution but i cant find anyone.
The point is, i want to make a list with the Tables inside of a specified mdb file.
Is there a way to read the table structure of an Access mdb?
Greetings

I don't know the answer to your question but you will need to examine the TableDefs collection (DAO) of the database somehow.
Each database has a TableDefs collection. This contains a TableDef (DAO) for each table that exposes properties of each table.

You cannot have two separate databases open in the same instance of Access.
You can have linked tables from another DB or you can use the 'Shell' command to open the DB in another instance of Access:
Private Sub CommandButton_Click()
'Open another database
Dim PathNameOfDB As string
PathNameOfDB="C:\Pathname\BDName.mdb"
Shell "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\msaccess.exe " & "PathNameOfDB", vbMaximizedFocus
Application.Quit ' closes current application so new DB is current.
End Sub
MDBMakers.com is a great source for Access and VBA solutions.

Hi guys.
I've been struggling with this for about two days now and I'm at wit's end. I've been tasked with writing an image viewer application.
"Easy enough" I hear you say. Well, yes, writing an application that can view an image is pretty simple, but there's a catch - they want the application to load INSIDE the user's browser, just like Word and Adobe Acrobat opens the documents in the Internet Explorer.
Basically we build up a url to a tiff image in the web application, and when that url is called, we want our image viewer to open the image in the browser, instead of having to open the Windows Image and Fax viewer in a new window and until Microsoft decide to add native viewing of TIFF images to IE, I'm in a bit of a pickle.
Please, please, please could someone lend a helping hand here?
Thanks,
Johann.

I have developed my own customized textbox control.That is working properly.I m now working on a Datagrid Control.How can i use my textbox control in that DataGrid Control.
If anyone has any idea ,Plz send me the answer .

Hi,
DataGridTextBoxColumn is not revealing its internals on this part. If you inherited from the normal TextBox you could try to set the private edit field of DataGridTextBoxColumn via Reflection. It holds the TextBox instance which is shown on the respective columns.
Other than that you probably have to implement your own column style class. Use Reflector to look how the given ones are implemented to get an idea on what to do.

Hi all,
iam havin a hard time figuring out how can i close a form which calls another form...
its like a log in form calling the main form after validating the log in parameters.
my code goes like this...
dim form2bcalled as new form2bcalled
form2bcalled.show()
me.close()
what happens after this codes is that the entire project close... leading me back to the design state.
thanks in advance guys...
Cheers.

Also check the projects properties. The "Shutdown Mode" is probably set to "When startup form closes". You can change this to "When last form closes".

The PictureBox should have a property to access the bitmap object. Does that object have a GetPixel method ?

hello!
I'm creating an application that reads a DBF exported from a ARCview 3. I was able to run a query using a VisualFoxpro provider.
The problem was, there are times when the exported DBF files contain duplicate fields, then an error occurs.
I can't connect to the same DBf using MS ACCESS, is there a way to access tne tables in a low-level manner, say to be able to rename the fileds.
My idea is to identify the fields via index since I can't aidentify them by their names and attach an incremental values to the name of the fields. um.. anybody know how to do this.

Hi,
first of all those DBF files are corrupted. It's not within the spefications of the format although I know that there are several ways to create such files. The only way I found to read such files was very lowlevel. Have a look here[^] or here[^]. Those sites describe the whole format of DBF files. Given this information you can either read the data yourself or just change the columns names so that each one has a unique name.

exactly what I needed.!
I appended a number series to the fieldnames. pretty dissapointed by the limited size of the fields. SO I had to truncate some of the letters. After that I was able to connect to it Using the VIsualFOxfrom Oledbprovide - it works !
Thank you.: -D

Yes Steve,
Toolbar , because I'm using the MDI control and the parent will contains different child form in it. I think I need to popolate buttons bellow to specify which child form is active. And to do that only toobarbutton is all I know. And if I right click the button, then chhose closed[X]; also the child window or form will be out of that screen. Only the remaining child form and it's corresponding button will remain. Please help me how.
Thanks.

Each Toolbar has a ToolBarButton collection.
Are you using Visual Studio?
Look up the help for 'ToolBarButton'.
You use the Add and AddRange methods to add buttons to your toolbar.
